Forgive my ignorance, I read quite a lot of this saga a few weeks ago both here and TB but started to flag at the immenseness of it and glossed over some of it at the end and in doing so I've obviously missed out a part which leaves me with a massive plot hole that bugs my curiosity - the original owner has been traced but he simply doesn't want it back?

I suspect maybe something to do with the pre. Re-solder the bridge and the neck pups in the opposite positions on the pre or balance pot and see if the neck stars doing it.

I'm sure this can be replicated though.
