1.
Poor Mr s****w. Lucky for him the seller was SO understanding that he just "couldn't afford it". http://www.ebay.co.u...206615184067721
Aw it's a damn shame that after logging 27 out of the 38 bids they eventually realised they couldn't afford it.
 2.
Oh these basses look soooooo cool. I love the tele body and the double humbucker setup is sweeeeeet. One of these will be my next purchase once things settle down for me.
Hey Steven, speak to Matt first before you do.
 3.
Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you meant reverting it back to a Ray would devalue it further than it's present price; whereas the damage is done so whether it is a Ray config or a Jazz config makes no difference from here on in.
Arr. Although if it were reverted to a 'ray and we ignore any history I dare say it would be worth less than £700 in the current climate. We saw an "imperfect" 'ray go for somewhere in the 500s recently.
 4. Yeah s***w's bidding was looking dodgy the whole time... looks like they tried to push it once too many... shame. No doubt it will be back soon enough.
 5.
Last I heard, Scottish independence is more popular in England than it is in Scotland . . . .
Now the oli's running out you've got no further use for us... until they discover that peat is the fuel of the future.
 6.
Moray is definitely not Highlands. And even if it was it is still UK mainland. To be told you are not in the UK mainland is ridiculous. As I stay in Moray and have an AB postcode I have got well fed up with couriers thinking we live in Greenland. FEDEX delivered to me this week no problem so it's only some couriers who have decided that we are too far away. A company in Newcastle decided that we were too far away yet admitted that Cornwall wasn't. The guy just didn't realise that Moray is closer to him than Cornwall. No wonder Alex Salmond is winning his independence argument!
Haha I was thinking of you when I wrote that Hutt's. Yep there's a certain national courier with their most northerly depot in Dundee who has problems even delivering privately to Aberdeen city... they still somehow manage to service businesses daily though. I think when it comes to rural destinations the reason is less to do with distance but more to do with volume... and a poor decision made by someone who's never been north of Watford who thinks (with the exception of G/gow and E/burgh) that Scotland is all men in kilts and the cutting of the peat... of course, it is like that in the Highlands.
 7.
Yeah, it doesn't look very much like graphite to me - and it sure ain't diamond! MB1. Diamond White makes everything look Graphite!
Is graphite rhyming slang?
 8. The body is blue and the back of the neck is black... well, more like carbon really
 9. Yeah the fret get removed and the slots will get filled with wood veneer. You can choose how conspicuous they look when you choose what type of wood they are filled with - maple = light lines etc. If he's got the time you really should get Alan to do it - then remains an all original ACG.
 10. "was told its a carbon neck" Look at his past items, he knows if it carbon or not. (and at 200 quid we do too)
 11. The serial dates it May 2005.
 12.
It's way north of you though, Moray, on the coast. From map on the H&I website, it is, even if only just. I can't see how they justify the extra cost though. If postman pat can get his van along the A96, you'd think UPS could.
That sucks. It would indeed seem that Moray (which by rights should be under the Inverness postcode) bizarrely sits bang on the point where 3 postcode zones converge, one of which is our more civilised AB zone. Still given their profession the courier should be going by postcode and AB means Aberdeenshire and not the Highlands.
 13.
Interesting discussion, as I'm sitting here with an ebay parcel all sealed up and addressed to .... Italy. I've sent basses and other things there without problems. So is my luck about to run out? Where I have just got caught out with the larger parcel sitting beside it, is I sent the buyer an invoice for standard UK P&P, then when I came to book the courier found his AB postcode is classed as Highlands and Islands. All but 2 of the courier options disappear and the ex VAT price goes up from £4.50 to £12. No way to recover that now I guess, except to shave a bit off the cost by sending it parcel post. So that's Scotland added to my block list
Contest it man. AB is where I am - Aberdeen. We most definitly are not Highlands and Islands.
 14. Nice one. I know there would be a bunch of my mates up for it (mostly chicks like).
 15. Scoop! Get a bush on that tuner though as the string tension will knacker it.
 16. Don't you just hate the way they say saaahder instead of solder.
 17. Found a vid
 18.
you would have thought there would be a blend knob in there for the jazz, so my guess is not. Question I have is why wouldn't you just sell your musicman and buy a jazz?
I agree. Though I'm thinking vol vol tone?
 19.
What a piece of sh*t.
Got your offer in?
 20.
Not really as you could just as quickly revert back if you had a new pick-guard as no mod needed for the MM pup as it is already routed. Wonder if it still has the MM preamp (not sure if that would work with other pups).
It's well documented John that a 'ray in not original condish is worth less than one that is. In it's current state it has all the benefits of a J with the looks of a MM. As a 'ray it will always be imperfect with that hole under the pg.
 21. Oh you must keep it as original as possible. I have seen though that the pups on these can give up the ghost fairly often. Get them checked out by a professional. Good luck.
