  6. i had to start a thread today to get in writing my immense joy and happiness that there is such a thing as customer care! i have a graphtech ghost midi system fitted to my bass so its got the piezo bridge. i am having a bit of a change around of design so dismantled everything and to my horror i noticed i had severed the wires that go to the actual piezo saddle and there is no way whatsoever to repair them or join the wires back up. after lots of cursing and a bit of face palming i started to search the net to try and find an individual replacement saddle as 3/4`s of the bridge was still perfect. no such luck to my horror as the whole piezo bridge costs a tidy penny and i only needed the one small part. so i emailed graphtech and told them of my situation. i must admit i didnt really expect a reply as thats often been the case when contacting large companies about an item that is no longer in warranty but the next day i did indeed get an email from the support department informing me that the individual saddle was not a part available to purchase but an order had been created which would be dispatched shortly. i read that as they was going to send me an invoice for the individual saddle and i was rather happy but a little apprehensive of what it was going to cost as usa to uk is not the best way to buy something by a long shot! anyway fast forward to today and a letter arrives and inside is not one but TWO! replacement saddles and totally free of charge! i am tempted to start saying things like "its restored my faith in humanity" but i wont because it hasnt but hats off to graphtech for being superb and making my day. its so refreshing to get sterling service from a company when there was no financial gain to be made and it was pure and simple care for a customer. THANK YOU GRAPHTECH!!
  7. gotta say i am a little surprised you are moving this on?? when i had my vb-99 i really wanted this to make life a lot more functional but the price put me off.
  8. as above fantastic 4 pot bass pre amp with passive/active push/pull and sweeping bass/mid and treble!! custom wired with a power on off switch and sexy blue led to indicate power on. i was fed up of draining batteries when leaving it plugged in so had the wiring changed and now get months from my batteries. complete with ets stacked knobs in chrome. all in cost me 270 euro upwards so a bargain. all wires will be clearly marked for an easy install. 15. its crazy how cheap this bass is. i wish i needed it
  16. bargain. its a shame these basses are often overlooked as they are bloody good and if you like slim necks like me then you wont find better. had many basses over the years but i always end up back with a prestige ibanez.
  17. that is lovely and a hell of a lot of bass for the money. nicest necks period.
  18. i wanted a midi bass but found there was not anything that ticked the boxes for me so built my own froma standard bass. heavily modified ibanez sr1000 esm bass. i had the work done on a new old stock prestige bass i imported from usa. the body has been routed to allow extra batteries and midi circuit boards and has room for the add on piezo amp board but i never got round to adding that. the original bridges were individual and routed into the body so that was over routed and a piece of wenge inserted to fill it then installed a hipshot midi/piezo bridge and made the strings through the body. the rear pick up was moved back and the front was moved forward to allow a very large ramp to be fitted. it is radiused perfectly to follow neck rad` and string heights. there is extra space behind the ramp to allow for the piezo board and batteries and would cost around another £60-70 to buy i think. the pick-ups are secured with captive nuts in the body and cap head bolts with springs instead of the orig` self tapping screws into the wood. the ramp is also fitted that way and is fully adjustable height wise. i have fitted a NOLL TCM 3P pre-amp which is stunning in quality and range. it has a sweeping EQ on the bass/mid and treble! it cost about £300 with the nobs. the designer at noll kindly made me a diagram to allow the pre` to be switched on manually and i fitted a blue led to show when on. its one of the very best pre amps i have had on a bass and the range of sounds it staggering. i had schaller lightweight tuners fitted and had the already ultra slim neck de-laquered and thinned down further and then polished with no finish added back on. its now the fastest thinnest neck you will find on a bass and is a dream to play. the midi electrics need to be heard to be believed. with a roland vb-99 there is basically no lag like the old systems used to suffer with. sure there are loads of quite silly synth noises available on it but the main feature i was amazed by was the standard bass emulations. it gave you the sound of practically all basses known to man and virtually identical sounds. its like having 50 basses in your arsenal but all played on the same one. its nice to be able to play midi devices for writing and what not if you dont play keyboards like myslef. i realise to some people it is a bass that has been severely modded but i never planned to sell so was no problem for me. unfortunately poverty has raised its ugly head again so looking to trade down plus cash perhaps? i am not sure i will be able to face not having it after investing close to £1500 and a lot of effort in getting it to the perfect bass for me but i thought i would see whats about and if anyone is interested as i am skint and no longer have the vb-99. ibanez sr1000 esm. noll TCM 3p pre amp. schaller lightweight pegs. hipshot piezo bridge. ghost midi board. with own volume control. this bass will either horrify you or get you excited. trade for 4 string only with cash my way.
  19. sold joe a sound card and had a perfect easy and pleasant transaction. highly recommended chap. cheers joe. ad
