  1. I had 2 of these - one 5, one 4 - and though it was a while ago I'm 90% sure they were 34s. Could be wrong, mind.
  2. I protect the finish on mine by putting a large gut between me and the bass. Very effective, and super-attractive.
  3. As a fellow owner of this particular t-shirt, the only 2p coins I have to throw in would be... Load NOTHING! Make the rest of the band wear the roadie shoes for a while, and milk it long afterwards! Tick the 'park it firmly on a stool and use the electric' box until damn sure otherwise. The most important factor in any of it is (IMO, of course) is any stressing about literally anything. I personally don't suffer the nervous gig disease, so have a word with that bloke in the mirror and if there's any worrying about any aspect of the whole thing, tell him to stay home. I had my little event on a Thursday afternoon and was considering playing a festival on the Sunday. Showing your face locally can have it's downsides - my cardiologist told me in no uncertain terms NOT to go, and as her son's band were on after us she'd find out! I had a week off.
  4. Don't like this sort of thing, but this LP's been on repeat...a lot. What's not to like? Skip 25 seconds if, like me, you find the lumpy death-rattle of a Hardly Desirable just plain annoying... Simply cannot get enough of this...
  5. Say that to a Russian , you'll get a laugh.
  6. Could be the much rarer Rickenbector, though.
  7. Shop by me had a bass hanging up made of Banksia - it destroyed itself when I paid for it. It's winter, so I'm already wearing my coat.
  8. I turned up to a few gigs on my motorbike with a Samick Corsair. 24" scale P bass!
  9. The only advice I have on lyrics would be... 1. Listen to the complete works of Led Zeppelin. 2. Don't do any of that.
  10. I use a Meideal FP10, it holds up my 35" five strings no problem, and with a little shift in the dangly-angle as you're putting it down, it works on my Jazz V too. It won't hold a bass up on a waltzer or anything, but I haven't had it fall over yet in about 18 months of using it. The only real problem I have with it is that it stows away so small I keep leaving it places!
  11. Team Up's working great for us, we changed to it 'cos the Goog one was pretty unreliable across people's different devices.
  12. I decided to have a crack at this malarkey, 'cos it's just playing with buttons and doesn't take any talent or skill, and can now categorically state that this stuff is HARD! And as a great man once said "If something's hard to do it's not worth doing." This has taken forever and definitely won't be getting any more time spent on it. (I'm well aware it shows) I genuinely think it might have been simpler to learn guitar and drums and just perform the bloody thing! My first - and probably last - attempt at one of those mash-up things.
  13. Thanks Dood, I know not to leave it plugged in at half time, now.
  14. BC hivemind, I require knowledge. If I pull the vol pot to passive, but leave the lead plugged in, am I still using the battery?
  15. Where is it currently? I can maybe get to north Staffs over the next few days.
  16. I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable than me will be along to edjermacate me how the TC BG250 is a 250 watt amp (on their website) with a 75w power supply. At least when manufacturers give extension cab / alternative impedance ratings they are at least somewhat capable of it.
  17. If you think that's dodgy, I suggest you have a look at TC Electronic!
  18. The angry pixies are back again. I left a sugarlump out for them and everything!
