the Peavey Zodiac BXP ...an overlooked classic? (HBD pending)
alyctes replied to Bass V's topic in Bass Guitars
There's a Peavey FB group which is fairly quiet but might suit: https://www.facebook.com/groups/141075212580323 -

I am pretty sure these are the Stagg EUB rebadged (or vice versa?).

Precisely. The greedy trying to exploit other people's greed. The buyer will then be invested in continuing the lie, because that's the only way they can get their money back. And we wonder why "fake news" has become a thing.

Hm. Seems to have no end pin?

Current listening: The tumble drier. I heard a Counting Crows bootleg a while ago. Powerful, tight and somehow economical; proper live work, really impressive. (I liked them before, but that would have impressed anyway.)

But the tiny hamlet of Barnoldswick near Burton-in-Lonsdale (further north, but also very close to the border) is called "Barniwig". Or it was when I were a lad.

Anyone who buys this is going to have a sever drop in their expectations.

A light dent, hm? Just a flesh wound, obviously.

He lost me at "YOU ARE BUYING THIS". No I'm bloody not.

"Not a real guitar." Well, duh... Maybe it was part of some pub's ornamental decor. Maybe the pub went out of business. Maybe we can guess why.

I use them as improvised insulation in the attic, away from the centre where you want to walk. Might as well get some benefit

I liked Low's approach: turn down the amps.

Hohner B Bass B. An eBay purchase; I don't need it and could use the space. It's Korean-made; I gather that these were made between 1994 and 1996. They seem to be quite uncommon. It's a passive bolt-on four-string, maple body and neck, rosewood board. Neck is 34-inch, 24 frets, 40mm wide at the nut. Truss rod turns happily; the cover is missing but I may well have it somewhere. Two J-style pickups; VVT controls. The neck pickup V-control is crackly, but I doubt this is a serious issue. It sounds pretty good, to me. Paired strap-buttons under the right hand so that you can lean it against something with minimal risk of it falling over. Neck is nice to play. It needs new strings and a clean and setup. The body's a fetching blue, rather darker and more intense than the first pic shows. Finish isn't terribly even, but it's as good as any of the Westfields I've played. It has its share of minor nicks and dents, but nothing unexpected in a bass of this age and certainly nothing bad; I think the worst is a chip in the body by the neck pocket. It would suit someone looking for a project, a starter, or someone wanting an inexpensive backup. I think it punches above its weight, personally. Originally priced at £100, plus carriage. Offers welcome.

Yamaha TRB 5 String Fretless Series 1 FS £500 SOLD

Guessing they made a more expensive active model as well. One line to shape all the P bodies, only one back cover to design and source, useful little saver.

It's a while ago. I didn't buy a bass specifically for it. I can't remember if anything arrived then either.
