    The guy who taught me had one (tuned E-C); he used it a lot. I played it a few times, but I was too inexperienced to really appreciate it. It was nice though

    Probably better made as well I had one of these, and if I hadn't gone fretless I'd still have it.

    Nobody else does. That's been coming up every few months for a couple of years now. I never looked at the price before, the picture was bad enough.

    Probably the packaged weight. I bet those aren't the bass's actual dimensions either. I mean, I could be wrong but 5.5 inches deep?

    I went back to fives because it was that or radically change my tuning (singer's voice has a pitch where he's comfortable, and we're stuck around that). What they really give me is the range under my left hand; I'm not using the notes below D at all, and that only occasionally.
