    I can't explain how to keep it under control. However, I will say that if you have more money than sense, soon you won't have. Deal with that now, or you'll wind up like me, with an angry bank manager and more basses than I know what to do with. Disposal decisions: Anything you're not playing can go. Anything you're sure you won't need in the next six months can be got rid of, unless it's impossible to find another or it's actually appreciating.

    Completely agree that fivers are mainly for having more notes under your hand. The extra notes are handy occasionally but it's the simplicity and ease of fingering that does it for me.

    You sold it to me, and I've still got it. I never play it (partly because I'm almost exclusively fretless these days). It's decent enough and very good for the cost, but doing something about the strap button position would really help.

    Never liked the Devil, it looks abominably uncomfortable to play and looks as if it was designed for Kiss. (Maybe it was, I dunno.) The AUB is better, but the string fastening thingy is awful.
