    BB450. My diagnosis was that the trussrod was maxed out, but I am a n00b and may have got it wrong. I've got most of the hardware still.

[/quote] The Alien is a wooden-neck twin (a knockoff or a licensed copy, I forget which) of the Kramer The Duke, which definitely has an aluminium neck. I think some of the early Hondos were aluminium-neck though. My Duke is for sale if anyone wants it

    I bought Nick's Adam Black acoustic/electric bass. We are a long way apart so it took a bit of arranging, but all is as advertised and we had a nice and too brief chat. Nick is a nice guy, with a nice family and very forgiving friends! I'd be pleased to deal with him again.
