1. This is why I've never bought an expensive bass.
2. this might be useful? In Bournemouth, so not completely out of your reach. http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/34-double-bass-with-pick-up-bow-and-soft-case-300/106484495 Disclaimer: I know nothing about this apart from what the advert says.
3.
Is this not place for all bass related bits and bobs or am i being a dufus!?
Wrong place. Try 'Other Musically Related Stuff'.
4.
Whos do you think is who's? And which footwear intrigues you most.... The femininity of the heels or the practicality of the trainers
I don't know which is more intriguing, but I do know I prefer shoes which don't look as if they're causing ankle damage... Five years in cuban heels will do that. So I'm going to guess that debwilliams wore the sensible shoes.
5. how do you get to the trussrod on these? 'tisn't obvious.
6.
Update. After a couple more jam sessions where the potential singer didn't turn up I discussed it with the band. They were very keen and the drummer said that he'd been thinking of suggesting it himself. Looks like I'm going to go for it.
Bigger balls than me. Good luck
7. Sounds like fun But, whose footwear is whose? Inquiring minds want to know
8. I'm not generally a fan of the boutique bass, but that is spectacular. Good luck with your sale!
9.
You could argue that Simon has done little of worth since 'Graceland'. 'Rhythm Of The Saints' was hardly incredible, though it had a handful of glorious tunes on it ...
Really? I think that it might actually be a better record than 'Graceland', if you take the political aspect away. 'Graceland' was groundbreaking and politically charged in the context of one country's relations. 'Rhythm of the Saints' didn't have that going for it, and it was always going to sound like a lesser record as a result. That doesn't mean it is a lesser record.
10.
Like me and Yamaha BB's. Currently holding 30+ and looking for more!
Blimey! Yamaha should appoint you as Official BB Historian
11.
Cheers, is that the tags? Don't come up on mobile site...
Yes. Do the admins know?
12.
A price may help get some interest. How much is it?
£180. It's in the subtitle.
13. I like the pink Jazz. Not sure about the matching headstock though.
14. Completely agree with PURPOLARIS and cameltoe. You don't have to justify owning it! Hang on to it unless there really is no other way. You are not going to feel any better if you lose the Fender as well. Good luck to you!
15. what a good-looking bass - subtle, not overstated. Good luck with your sale!
16. I bought Antony's Vox Amplug. Flawless transaction. Thanks!
17. I'll take the Schaller straplocks, if they're still available. Might also be up for the 7-screw bridge. PMed.
18. I'm not seeing them either. Search of the linked site does not show anything for 'wacojaco1'. Sometimes it is preferable to link elsewhere, though - earlier this year, that was the only sensible way to do it, because the Basschat servers were not accepting picture uploads. Also, where are you based?
19.
It would work, the bass would also balance better. On the downside though, your bass won't be as manouverable (IME at least from experience with acoustic guitars, they just kinda stick in the position they're in, more prone to laying horizontal too) and you have the extra weight on the neck (and basses are heavier than acoustic guitars). If you move about whilst playing, they're both considerations.
Thanks That's how I have my Ashbory, BTW - almost vertical.
