  1. I caught the tail end of it, and listened to quite a bit on Thursday evening. Whilst I’m not a country aficionado I liked the majority of what I heard - and agree, the house band sounded very good.
  2. I’ve a bunch of mates who are in a band that aren’t that great, but they get really good audiences when they play so people like them.
  3. Nothing so glamorous, I am mostly Laurence.
  4. I’ve just always used Lozz - with records/publishing etc that’s what I’m listed as for credits.
  5. Great idea Rob 🤣
  6. Great feedback @neepheid, I bet you were very pleased with that
  7. I’m whittling down now I’ve decided to give up gigging. I’ll be keeping hold of: Fave Fender US Precision (home or studio use only) MIM Fender Precision (in case I get asked to do a gig) Yamaha BB1100s (nostalgic bass) Sandberg Superlight TT (for rehearsals) Sandberg Superlight Lionel (on order, del expected Nov 26) It’s certainly more than I need, and to be honest once the Lionel turns up I’ll probably move the TT on.
  8. What I find works best for me with the Scrambler is to keep the Blend at 9 o’clock and the adjust the Drive as required. I usually have it at 9 o’clock just to take the sharp edges off the notes.
  9. I think so, with just one instrument - or a fave that inevitably gets played instead of the others - you really get to know it. I have a few Precisions all of the same series, yet my fave one which I’ve had 10 years feels so much better to play, even though they’re all set up pretty much the same. I just instinctively know where/when to back off or dig in as appropriate on it.
  10. Since the separation and privatisation of Royal Mail & Parcelforce from The Post Office there can’t be much disagreement that they’ve both gone downhill. Thankfully The Post Office was retained under Govt ownership.
  11. Again agree. Since we started Knock Off in 2013 we played all over the country. At our first Rebellion in 2015 we must have had 700 watching us (1000 capacity room) whereas bands who’d been on the scene for years, but only played locally were getting much smaller audiences.
  12. Agree, pretty much all of the gigs I’ve played in the past 10 years or so in originals bands have always been well attended. Since returning to Knock Off temporarily, in the three gigs we’ve played crowds were approx 600 (800 capacity) 100 (100 capacity) 500 (600 capacity).
  13. I`ve not had or used one of these, but assuming it`s the same quality of their Tony Butler Precision then it would be a very good instrument. This is the first time I`ve seen these and I`m going to take a punt on one.
  14. Yep, great track and all the more amazing because of said bass.
  15. Same here, they might not look cool, but in hot sweaty venues they ARE cool.

    They’re decent basses, nice one
  17. If you go with the girl singer given you have a sax player you simply have to do Will You by Hazel O’Connor.
  18. The new bassist in my old band is using a Tech21 Para Driver in front of his Markbass amp & 210 cab to get the signature Knock Off sound. Combined with his MIM Precision loaded with EMG GZR pickups it sounds great.
  19. Same here, great little bits of kit that will easily cover a gig if needed
  20. Loved the gigs at The Dolls House, great venue, that`s a real shame that it`s closed.
  21. Nice, looks great
  22. Agree, every single person who attends the gig, be it few or many, they all deserve the best a band can deliver.
  23. I`ve always answered no to that question. Mainly because the actual answer was "your bum looks big in everything". Which of course I was far too diplomatic to say.
  24. Been there Dan, was rather disappointing to find out my (imo) great onstage sound was so rotten in the audience.
