  1. This is something I’ve done repeatedly over the years.
  2. Just got home from a Spacewasters rehearsal. We only rehearse when we’ve a gig looming (2 in fact, in the next couple of weeks, both at The Water Rats in Kings Cross) just to refresh a bit. Our new guitarist is fitting in well, both guitarists working this eve on sounds and who does which lead bit etc. Plus me and both guitarists now doing backing vocals so a lot stronger in that dept which is good. Bass was JMJ Mustang into the studios - I think - Laney stack of amp/410/115, sounded great. In this band I tend to go for a more traditional supporting bass sound which I prefer to the up front/listen to me sounds I’ve had previously.
  3. Do Yamaha BBs look too Precisiony, if not def worth checking out.
  4. Excellent news, tell all, what type of band?
  5. What sort of life do you get from these, do they last as long as flats?
  6. It’s over there, between the land and the sky!
  7. It’s just something I’ve always done, works well enough so I’ve stuck with it, I find any longer on E & A and there isn’t enough room on the tuning pegs anyway.
  8. That’s some good news Steve
  9. I cut mine at 12cm for D & G 11.5cm for A 11 for E
  10. Eagerly awaiting your verdict
  11. I`m in agreement with the "support bigger bands" theory, better to try to sell to 500 of someone elses fans and make them your own, as long as it`s similar music styles there`s a reasonable chance of picking up sales as a result.
  12. Holy Jazz Bass, Batman
  13. 3 great basses there
  14. I think it’s horses for courses, Motörhead, Guns N Roses, Sex Pistols, for bands like that crib sheets & iPads just aren’t “the look”. Now people could take a pop and say well that music isn’t difficult, wouldn’t be needed, well prob not except the Slash parts.
  15. Ye an 8ohm cab is what you need, ideally a 1x12 to match, the Markbass NY121 is a very good fit. Louder, well the difference between what your amp puts out at 8ohms and 4ohms won’t be that much but - and a big but - you’ll effectively be doubling the amount of the sound so it will seem much bigger/louder. I had the CMD121P combo paired with the NY121 cab and though I only ever played to the volume of the drums there was a really noticeable change to the amount of sound when using both as opposed to just the combo.
  16. Motley Cruel, lol 😂
  17. Yeah no need to force it, if it’s not hitting the spot put it to the side, it may come back it may not.
  18. This reminded me of Loadsamoney from the 80s - I came out of the house this morning and my car was facing the wrong way, so I bought a new one!
  19. Cheap at half the price - I accurately doubt I’d manage that if I paid 50 times more for them.
  20. So beer drinking countries = L & XL Wine drinking countries = M Makes sense, who ever heard of a wine belly?
  21. Def, in my last band we found that vinyl sold great in Wales and Europe, CDs not so much, whereas in England CDs sold much better than vinyl. And yes, L & XL shirts are the "sellers".
