1. A Generation 3 Barefaced Big Twin II up for grabs. - Now Sold Bought in October 2016, used only at rehearsals, not been gigged. In superb condition, only difference to new condition is I`ve glued some rubber matting on the top so that light micro-amps don`t slide around on it. Comes with a Roqsolid cover in all black. Full link to Barefaced specs: http://barefacedbass.../Big-Twin-2.htm £850 and it`s yours, happy with Paypal (but no fees ta), Bank Transfer, or Cash on collection/delivery/meet-up. No trades thanks.
2.
Oh, the treble knob doesn't do a great deal.
That`s my thoughts too - I actually thought mine was broken when I got it as the treble didn`t seem to do much. However the 5k on the graphic really adds in the highs.
3. Difficult to beat Hanoi Rocks, Tim, good call. Mike Monroes current material is also really good.

80's tone

I think I`d look more at amps for this, and grab a Trace Elliot of some sorts.
5. I`d say that there is def a fair amount of drive on the studio sound, plus not real low lows. Additionally a boost in the hi-mids between the 2kHz and 3kHz area, rather than on the actual highs.
6. I found when using flats that I had to change my left-hand fretting technique as I`m a bit heavy handed, so leaned to place the strings onto the frets rather than my usual forcing them down. Essentially there was bit of a "clack" every time I was fretting until I changed this.
7. I`ve not gigged the RMs yet so can`t really comment, but I`d suspect that the BF would be better on this.
8. Which of your bands is doing that? We did a mini-tour of Germany last year was great. We`re also supporting Booze & Glory for 3 nights of their tour in April, namely Bristol, London & Derby.
9. Very nice Kevin, at home practice levels the sound is pretty much the same as with the ABM cabs, no real eq spikes to give a different flavour so to speak. Raggy - yes I think I do slightly prefer the Ashdowns, they just seem to have a more forceful sound about them, like they`re pushing the sound at you, which playing punk just fits a little better for me. Still think the BFs are great though, and will always recommend them.
10. Quote from Billy Apple - They're all on my record player, but you've forgot Argy Bargy! Yes you`re right Sean, did indeed, hope Watford Jon doesn`t hear about this, he`ll be most upset. Yep, Argy Bargy are awesome, Hopes, Dreams, Lies & Schemes is a great album, another that doen`t leave the car.
11.
I've heard of The Old Firm Casuals, through the Lars link, but not heard any yet. I've been listening to a fair bit of Rancid recently so will try and give them a spin tomorrow.
Hopefully you`ll like them Graham, I think they`re awesome. We were lucky enough to be asked to support them last year, a real "we`re not worthy" moment for me. I was really impressed by their professionalism too.
12. My current fave bands are Booze & Glory, The Last Resort and The Old Firm Casuals but I`d be pretty sure not many know much about any of them.

14. It always comes round to the playability for me, the Fender Road Worns are superb instruments, they just don`t do them in colours that I like that much, hence not having bought one yet.
15. I`ve got the ABM600 with ABM210/410 cabs, and the RM500 with RM210/115 cabs. Impressions are that the ABM is a bigger sound, and has more presence in the lows when all set flat, but other than that I find them very similar, though have to admit I get my eq from my Sansamp. The only adjustment I make on the amps is on the ABM I back off on the lows to about 10 o`clock, whereas on the RM I leave all at noon. So to answer Peetys question - sortof - not that much difference between the two, though I`m guessing at higher volumes the ABM will fare better.
16. I`m not a fan of flats for my needs, but think they sound great when used in genres that they fit well, ie Motown.
17. Generally about an hour, as I realise yet again, despite wanting to like flats, that I just don`t.
18. I lose my mojo on song-writing every now and then. No matter what, nothing worthwhile appears, so I do as advised and simply stop trying, no point in forcing it. And then, refreshed, usually a good few ideas will sprout.
19. I put up a Wanted ad and Tom replied with the very article, a Tech 21 Para Driver. Arranged the deal/sent payment on Sun, item arrived Tue am. Great comms and great transaction.
20. Nice one, I class that as a real achievement, chuffed for you.
21. Of current bands it would be The Darkness, just for the fun aspect, of days gone by probably The Jam for those basslines.
22. Mono Betty are good - I have one that I`m considering letting go, it`s the long version.
23. I don`t go a bundle on the looks of fake relicing, but the Fender Road Worn Precisions are excellent instruments. That worn in neck is sooooo comfy to play. I really must grab one of these myself at some point.
