  1. Love that, I wonder if it’s just bassists that when they hear that song they listen more to the bass than the singer?
  2. Sounds great Sarah
  3. Yep, thought re-training camps alive & well in the UK, most commonly known as the workplace 🤣
  4. Yup
  5. Amazing amount of rig for a great price!!!
  6. He’s the one in the yellow jacket standing next to the bloke in red trousers…,
  7. Thing about Coldplay is that although the music is pretty bland & insipid their songs are easily identifiable and can be hummed along to easily. I’m not a fan at all but I think there’s more to them than the blandness would suggest.
  8. Yes the manuals state to do it, and it`s one of those situations where strangely enough reading the manual is very beneficial. I just wonder how many people have gone ahead and done their own thing and not been entirely happy with their amps as a result.
  9. Slightly more dangerous than Russian Roulette............
  10. I’d like some respect for eating doner kebabs sober, it’s the kind of bravery only shown by the mighty!!
  11. I`m itching for the chance to use my two ABM PRO NEO 210s now I`m in a gigging band again. As soon as I do I`ll update on these pages.
  12. I`ve found that to get the best out of my Ashdown amps the Input Gain needs to be set so that the loudest part of my playing (ok, yes we all know that means all of it as I have no subtlety with my ham-fist-punk approach) puts the needle on the meter into the red. From there select Output Gain to match the volume of the other instruments. It`s actually quite amazing how much of a difference it makes, it`s almost like the amp "comes alive" in comparison to if the Input Gain is set a fair bit lower.
  13. Tort works, unleash your inner Steve Harris, Nick
  14. Each to their own, I suppose it stops issues down the line.
  15. I remember that set up Tim, sounded great
  16. The RM414 is a nice sounding cab, and if doing regular pub sized gigs more than enough. If playing big stages & touring in vans etc I’d go for the ABMs, more hard wearing and a greater depth to the sound which helps on those big stages.
  17. Does seem a tad expensive, I’ve used them in the past and they’ve always been quite competitive.
  18. Forgive my lack of knowledge on this @Bill Fitzmaurice but does this mean that in general it’s easier to be objective about the sound of a cab on larger stages as there’s less for the sound to “bounce around on” or is the fact that these stages are usually elevated another factor getting in the way of making objective judgements?
  19. I’ve never heard of Fender doing this, but I know a Basschatter had one of these, can’t remember who it was tho, think maybe it was @Paul S?
  20. I should add, this wouldn’t be for me, love Precision necks but I do think it would be a real seller to many.
  21. I think you’re right, if they did a Precision model where all specs were identical but there was a choice of P or J neck I reckon they’d be quids in.
  22. I remember reading about a military exercise where the Gurkhas had to “invade” a guarded base overnight. Apparently the next morning the guards were well chuffed that they hadn’t tried, til they stood up and all found their bootlaces had been tied together in the night without them noticing. Def don’t pith off a Gurkha.
  23. It`s strange but whenever I put a set of flats on a bass I get more string noise for a while, but it does go as I adapt my playing to them, seems either flats make me play better/more precisely, or rounds just let me get away with a lot more. Maybe it`s because I`m much more used to rounds, who knows?
  24. I`ve thought about getting one of these for overseas gigs to make flying a tad easier, wonder if there are any hard cases that would fit one?
