Yes it sounded very nice. Was at a gig so only had gig-sound experience but really nice cab.

If you like your Ashdowns why not get one of their 610s or 810s? From the cabs mentioned I’ve used Ampeg 610HLF and it was a really nice cab, same with the Fender 810 NEO, and of course the Ampeg 810, but having also helped move one I would never want one.

It`s always amazing when that happens isn`t it Mart, sounds similar to a local venue to me, The Wheatsheaf in Leighton Buzzard. At 21:25 there`s no-one in there, band on at 21:30 and it`s rammed.

The NY121 is the same size as the CMD121P so they match perfectly - and sound great as well.

She certainly puts the effort in, great attack on the drum sounds.

The Ampeg SCR-DI is nice, it’s pretty much the only preamp/DI pedal I’ve had where increasing the low end doesn’t result in major boom. The option of adding in (in my case a small touch of) drive without changing the volume is nice as well.

Just watched a really good prog about Alanis Morissette on Sky Arts, a (recorded) live concert of hers due on now.

In my new band I’m just playing their current selection which is excellent aside from a couple of songs that I think are just ok. I suggested adding in Pump It Pump by Elvia Costello at some point and they’re all up for it so great that there’s a willingness there.

Given how popular short scale basses are becoming I think any string manufacturer not making short scale strings is really missing a trick.

In an old punk covers band we would decide on a song then give it a go. After two times through it we would know if we would be able to proceed with it or not, some songs just didn’t work.

I think in this situation I would listen to which songs had been agreed upon them ask. OK, now which of the songs we’ve all just agreed on do I not need to put the time & effort in on as some/all of you will not bother to do the same. Might be confrontational but sometimes it’s necessary to fosters people off in order for them to listen.
