    Agree, only seen them live once but I do like to watch their live shows when they’re shown on TV. For me the albums are too polished/sanitised whereas live they just kick the proverbial.

    No they’ll be fine, was perfectly happy using mine for flying gigs as well and still no issues.

    Cheap & nasty tweeter most likely, I’ve had this happen in a couple of cabs and once the tweeter was replaced with a better one the problem stopped.

    Yup, Elixirs at present but used to be Warwick Reds and Rotosounds before them. I use steels as the sound is sharper and has greater clarity, offsetting against the natural warmth of the Precision (and Mustang as that’s my current bass). On a Jazz it’s the reverse, I favour nickels to add some warmth in.

    If they brought out a white one I would be both happier and poorer at the same time. These really are excellent basses, I love mine.

    I had one of those Schroeder cabs, really good, sound sat well in the mix and the dispersion was probably the best I`ve heard from any cab, aside from standing pretty much behind it the sound remained constant.

    Check, check and check again your equipment before leaving. If it`s a 30min drive set off at least an hour before you need to get there. As long as you`re relaxed about your gear working and being on time anything else that may come your way can be dealt with at the time.

    Always driving for me, in both of my bands all I need to take is my Mono M80 as it holds bass/leads/tuner but I couldn`t do public transport to either of the rehearsal rooms we use as each is a 45min drive away.

    That’s a shame, was it with Rancid or Old Firm Casuals (and irrespective of that the most important question is what’s your band)?

    I think Lars just had a resting bee-atch face as he’s a decent chap, probably one of the most professional in approach people I’ve gigged with.

    I went to bass lessons at school, once I’d found out what & where the notes were I quit then taught myself to play from there. I never actually learned to play any actual songs at the lessons.

    He still looks uber cool. And she sounds rotten, they’d be better off as an instrumental group.

    For myself I like to have a home use bass and a couple of gigging basses, which I rotate so I get to use them both. They are all the same though (JMJ Mustangs). Plus my fave ever Precision of course which although I’m now a short scale guy I’ll never get rid of unless I’m really in the mire.

    Adding to the list, I bought a Fender JMJ Mustang Bass from Bass Bros, paid online on Friday morning, turned up today (Monday). Very well packaged indeed, thanks @Willfunk

    Played there a few times, loved it. In honour of the venue and the genre (punk) we added The Damneds New Rose to our set the first time we played there (as the vid was shot there apparently).

    That is amazing, really nails the 70s Precision sound, sadly I’m short scale from now on otherwise this would be chez Lozz!

    I wonder if it`s that some musicians (especially drummers?) find it difficult to make the transition from where they have to fill a room with sound from their own gear alone to suddenly having FOH to do the hard work for them that they keep on pounding as hard as possible.
