  1. +£7.92 postage! Each to their own, but I’m not sure I like the look of the control cavity. Or the rear for that matter, but that may just be me. Listing states it has electrical issues as well and needs setting up. Hope it turns out OK for ya.
  2. @Raslee - Have you put your serial number through the MM database? On the assumption that it’s wood from the same batch that is subject to this infestation, it would interesting to know if my bass was in the factory at the same time. Here’s mine....
  3. I have a feeling I might. I also have a nagging feeling that if I wanted to replace it at some point, I would struggle to find one in as such beautiful condition or sounding anywhere near as good. The only reason for the sale is that I’m about to pull the trigger on a custom build and I’ve already reached my self imposed ‘bass limit’.
  4. I think I would have seen some indication by now given I’ve had it for two and half years.
  5. How many similar cases have there been? Should probably go and check mine 😦
  6. Agree with @Chiliwailer’s comments. If it’s genuine, those numbers in pounds seem reasonable. It does hurt it’s value slightly without the certificate, but they don’t charge thousands for the piece of paper.
  7. Yep, it’s that one mate. I question whether I’m doing the right thing on an hourly basis 🤷‍♂️
  8. For sale only - no trades and I'm not prepared to ship this outside the UK at this time This bass is in beautiful condition. I've been over it very carefully and apart from some swirling on the pick guard and some very light play wear on the frets, you would be hard pushed arguing that it hadn't just left the factory. The body is made from mahogany and the colour is Trans-Crimson with a high gloss finish. The neck is figured maple and also has a poly finish. The fretboard is rosewood and there is a 30th Anniversary logo on the headstock. The bridge is the string through body variety with no option to string through the back of the bridge. Pre-amp is the MM 3-band with a single 9v battery compartment at the rear. The pick guard is black and white five ply and the white has started to go a lovely cream colour. I believe only 783 of these were made and they were all single H configuration apart from a couple of special orders with HH configuration - good luck if you have one of them! They have a reputation for being excellent examples of the Stingray and are quite sought after. Some of them are also know to be quite heavy due to the mahogany body, but I'm happy to say this is one of the lighter one at 9.96lbs. I have owned quite a few Stingrays over the years and this is one of the best I've had. It comes with its original burgundy hard case with black lining and 30th Anniversary badge within, as well as strap connector buttons. My preference would be to hand this over in person. It's too good to wave good bye to in the hands of a Mickey Mouse courier. I'm happy to assist in driving to a mutually agreed mid-point within reason. Feel free to ask any questions.
  9. Lovely looking bass there and possibly unique in that it’s a used Bongo without paint chips on the headstock.
  10. Ah, you beat me to it....
  11. Yeah, sell it and put the BBOT back on. Full contact = Emperor's New Clothes.
  12. Vinyl and CD are sold out. Boxes will be gone very soon no doubt!
  13. Yes, ordered mine thank you. Makes me laugh that they have restricted them to one per customer for the final volume! 🙄
  14. I couldn’t possibly say 😎
  15. GAS attack. I may not make it to the end of March 😬.
  16. I had an LX briefly. I found it a little chunky. Lovely bass and sound though.
  17. Ooof! If only I got on with the neck profile....
  18. ....and that is how to sell a bass 👍. There are a few members who could learn a lot from this ad. GLWTS.
  19. I'm finding this a little confusing. To what ends do they require a 'video' audition? The image/person/gear is one thing, but all you mentioned was that they want to ensure you can play 'metal'. Accepting they are happy with the image/person/gear, surely recorded audio would suffice to answer that question? Or are they suggesting that you must simultaneously prove that it's you playing - which would be weird. I appreciate it's not everyone's solution, by my response would be get yourselves on JamKazam or Jamulus and let's play some tunes.
  20. Nice surprise arrived this morning. It beat its estimated delivery date by about a week. I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow night 😀.
  21. Just to echo some of the comments regarding the quality playing of Dennis Davis, I'm enjoying this album. I know the Diamond Dogs Tour has been documented elsewhere, but this is the second leg compared to the earlier first leg on which 'David Live' was recorded and features bass player Emir Ksasan instead of Herbie Flowers - oh, and Luther Vandross on backing vocals.
  22. Mmm, have to appear? Not really, although there are a few that do appear quite regularly. Our #1 fans unsubtly drop into post gig conversation should we dare not play Ziggy Stardust into Suffragette City, but other than that, we like to mix it up. We have about 60 or so songs to choose from at the moment, so it's fairly easy to do.
  23. Yes, I was just saying exactly that to our singer. The whole band love playing Cracked Actor, but the drummer hates Ashes to Ashes - partly because he's played it 1000's of times 😂
