I just realised I should have probably listed the spec. D'oh! It's going to be a variation on the existing 'JJ Burnel Lite' model. The top of the range 'Carbonlite' models were a limited run and are all spoken for now anyway as I understand it. So, this is what Jon and I have agreed:

Flushed with the success of my Jazz Bass Build, I thought I would set about trying to put a Precision together. I have a chequered history with Precisions. I love the sound, but typically don't like the necks. I do have one P bass that has a jazz neck, but it has a single coil rather than a split. After a lot of internet trawling for the elements required, I became a bit weary of finding the exact pieces for the puzzle and kind of drifted off looking at off the shelf P's with J necks, then on to custom builds - as you do 🙄. Again, lots of reading and watching videos and after chatting with @Dood and then Jon Shuker himself, I decided that was the way I wanted to go. Jon and I have been bouncing ideas back and forth for a couple of weeks and we've now settled on the spec. In fact, I've just paid the deposit, so now the wait begins! The estimated completion date is around 6 months, so I'll be looking at late September/early October for delivery. It's only the second bass I've ever had built to my spec and I had a quite narrow set of options with the first one. All very exciting. There will be updates aplenty in due course.

Not trying to avoid answering the question, but the pedal is on my board with the rest of my gig rig and hasn't seen daylight for a while 😬.

Sorry, I edited my post and left it making no sense whatsoever 😂. I meant to say I have a couple of synth pedals and bizarrely, they are both on my board at the moment. I have the SY-1 and the Future Impact. If you don’t like messing about with patches, the FI probably isn’t for you, but I’m sure you could get something usable out of the SY-1. Not much difference in price though, so you’d probably want to A/B them.

I haven't used one, but I do have a couple and have played P.Y.T. before. Plug in and play doesn't get much simpler than the Boss SY-1.

It's a strange venue, I'll give you that. A former church that has been converted into a very popular live venue. I think the font or the pulpit still form part of the stage (pulpit I think). Great backstage area though and the resident sound guy really knows his stuff.

Now rescheduled to 9/7/2022. Our first gig for over a year and I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to playing live again. Tickets on sale now. Support is `å la Queen' performing the 1985 Live Aid set and more. Tickets available here.

I saw this post pop up about a minute after @TheGreek posted it and that was my initial thought too. I don't think Geddy would regard himself as such. He's a hell of a bass player and one I very much admire, but I'm not sure about musical genius - whatever that is even?

I must admit I’ve been victim of low ceiling headstock collision myself. There’s a club in Chelmsford called The Basement with not only low ceilings, but they are a lot lower in certain areas than others. We even had to move our set up around a bit as our guitarist is quite a tall chap and he would have had to play and duck at the same time. At the end of the first set I undid a strap lock and lifted the bass slightly to slide the strap off and ‘boink’. Horrible moments them, you kind of dare not look. Luckily it was a machine head and no damage. Tell you what, I never did it again in all the times I’ve played there.
