  1. Spitfire have made the entry level BBCSO plugin free for everyone!
  2. Thanks for the clarification! I'll give it a shot.
  3. Am I misunderstanding this page which says "ChordPulse has MIDI output but no audio output"?
  4. Oh Chordpulse is MIDI output only so not really what I was after.
  5. I need a 4 string jazz like I need a hole in the head but I'm tempted 😬
  6. I paid the ~£12 for iRealPro on Android -- typically, I've not managed to spend much time with it but it seems to cover the basics. The UI (on a smallish phone at least) is a bit clunky. I've not tried Chordpulse yet though, might give the trial version a shot.
  7. Possibly because it still advertises "Gear Porn" in one of the forum titles?
  8. B♭ and F# are more commonly used than A# and G♭, despite being enharmonic equivalents, so they're less likely to trip up the reader in most cases. As ever though it depends on context.
  9. This is the vibe I tend to go for (although it's been a while, hopefully my neck is still up to it)
  10. Sounds about right to me 👍
  11. I'm pretty sure there is a hardware element at least, I have one bass where it's particularly noticeable, even unplugged.
  12. I get this on my Conklin GTBD7, I'd hoped a fret polish and slightly higher action would sort it but no dice. Rolling off the treble can help a bit...
  13. I got my old 4/4 5 string in an early 2000s Nissan Micra with the back seats down pretty easily. Was a bit sketchy trying to sit someone in the back seat as well though...
  14. I think you'd quite quickly run into something akin to Brooks' Law.
  15. I think this premise is flawed, given that Status aren't even taking orders at the moment. I suspect if the demand for Jaydees was as high they'd be in much the same boat.
  16. Newtone should be able to wind you some to fit.
  17. Bought a bass from Mike -- excellent communication, very fast shipping and very well packed, and the bass is exactly as described. Thanks again!
  18. Hi, is this 34" scale?
  19. Unless you need to practice at hearing damage volumes you should be fine with pretty much any monitors.
  20. When I last looked at this the Helix units had a much more balanced selection of bass models. I ended up with the HX Stomp, but it does depend on your budget and needs.
  21. When's the housewarming 🍻
  22. Thanks folks. That looks pretty close, although no Windows support is an annoyance. Might take a punt on the Android version though. Band in a box looks like overkill for me, I think.
  23. Basically I want a basic interface (ideally on my PC rather than on a phone) where I can lay out a chord sequence, have it loop with a basic accompaniment, then maybe modulate it (e.g. ii-V-I starting in C then moving through the circle of fifths). I just want to play over some basic chords without getting bogged down trying to play or program it in Reaper. Hopefully someone's already done this so I don't have to go build it myself...
  24. This is amazing. I long ago accepted that I don't have the temperment for hardware tinkering but a web UI for effects is a really neat solution (and is giving my web dev brain some ideas to chew on...). Is the board effectively a wee Linux box that you can run a server + the microcontroller stuff on, or do you have to package it all up somehow, a la Arduino?
  25. Recent (heart-warming) example from @Jimothey:
