I'm pretty hard-line on this - if punters are only coming to hear your greatest hits set, it's probably time to pack it in, imo. Too many acts trading on nostalgia. Exceptions apply, YMMV, see T&C's, etc.

Nice! These blew my mind when I came across their site (in the early 2000s, I guess?). Cool to see them live up to that 🙂 Their range doesn't seem to have changed much since then, I think they're still using the same pictures!

OK, got the pickups fitted. First impression is that the main benefit is the higher-spec jazz-style pickup is hum-cancelling and totally silent, other than that I don't hear a great deal of difference. I'll need to record some samples and A/B them with the ones I took before.

Unless 300g and £75 is a deal breaker I'd get the one you like the look of more.

I don't really have bucket-list basses as such, but I was too slow to get a lovely looking Ibanez BTB single-cut locally recently. That's the only time I remember I've had a realistic interest in buying a bass then not been able to.

Just measured my 5+ string basses, two are ~16.5mm and one is ~20mm but I couldn't have told you what the spacing on any of them was beforehand. I used to have a 5 string on a 4 string neck conversion, even that was fine for me at the bridge, the nut end was more of an issue. That said I find swapping between basses with different numbers of strings pretty straightforward, which I know a lot of people struggle with, so may not be representative.

I had a Pod X3 Live (since upgraded to an HX Stomp) for a number of years. Guitar and bass models on it were both good to my ear. The editing experience is a bit clunky by modern standards but there are enough controls for it not to be too painful.

Glad that jazz went to a good home 👍

A desktop will be more amenable to upgrading parts in future as funds allow, too.

Oh Chordpulse is MIDI output only so not really what I was after.
