razor5cl started following New limited edition Jackson Rhoads bass - coming to the UK?
-
Just seen this one advertized through the grapevine - a limited edition Rhoads-shaped bass: https://www.guitarcenter.com/Jackson/X-Series-RR-B-IV-Limited-Edition-Electric-Bass-Guitar-Black-1500000455188.gc I've always lusted after the Jackson Rhoads and Warrior shapes and desperately wished they did bass versions (you occasionally see custom shop models pop up which shows they can at least make them!). This one seems to be a limited edition and I wonder whether any will make their way over here...

So the stingray has had 6 coats of clear coat today and it’s being left over the weekend to cure before it’s wet sand and buff to a high gloss finish. im really pleased with the dirty stain, the stark white has gone and the grain really pops out. Its certainly going to be different from the usual natural finish stingrays and definitely worth the effort once it is back together. i have suppliers sourcing me a black bridge direct from musicman so once that is here i can reassemble!

From my experience, they do have a noticeable seismic impact on the surrounding area. My neighbours hated me when I had the 400+ and the 1516! I just think that this head deserves a matching cab, complete with the Mesa/Boogie logo, the grid plate grille and so on, but in the Subway style - ie, lightweight and portable for people who don't have a big car and who value the integrity of their vertebrae.

Just tried it out. So, so clean. Better sound than your best oxygen free copper, gold plated connector, washed in unicorn tears cable. I would use it from choice even for a quiet gig with no leaping about.

Craig Robinson started following Vintage brand distressed jazz.

For sale, My Vintage brand jazz. It has the vintage reissued Jaco alike body but an older fretted P bass neck. Full wilkinson hardware and pickups but with new cream covers. Nice player and ideal if you don't really like jazz width necks. I would estimate 4kg but not 100%, not particularly heavy though for sure. I have a shipping box so postage is negotiable, UK Only please. Cheers Craig.

New Fender Vintera II Roadworn 60's Precision
Jono Bolton replied to HeadlessBassist's topic in Bass Guitars
I was going to have a shot of that one at lunchtime today but wasn't able to make it over. If it's still there on Tuesday when I'm next in the office I'll have a swatch. -
Groovy. Mark

This is also the case with my Powerhouse 6x10.

The Cab cover I bought via Hotcovers on Wednesday afternoon arrived today. It seems well made, fits nicely and is quite thick. I'd recommend.
-
Ah. Maybe a darker polish for the front, to cover the marks, and a moisture proof spray for the underside?

HeadlessBassist started following A tale of two Jazz Basses (Deluxe/Elite)

A bit of a Fender Jazz day today... I picked up a nice Alder/Rosewood 2014 Jazz Deluxe for a friend last night on my way home from the SW. I've been setting it up today, and it plays really well & sounds good, but what I wasn't prepared for was when playing it back to back with my Ash/Maple Elite, how much improved the Elite really was in 2016 over the previous Deluxe. It really is night and day. As folks say, the Elite really was peak Deluxe Series.

The staining is on the front tho. It kind of seeps through and leaves a darken patch on the front of the strap seemingly staining it
-
My straps are the same. It's on the underside. Does it matter?

Pow_22 started following Leather strap and sweat issues
-
Really random one here but..... A few years ago my wife treated me to a rather expensive custom made strap from Bear straps. It a lovely thick piece of dark brown leather (smells amazing too). On the underside it is a smooth suede finish that seems to absorb sweat and leaves a darken patch on the strap. Ive tried various leather cleaners and waxes etc but the suede just soaks up sweat and has left me searching for alternative solutions before ditching the strap. One thought it to buy some waterproof fabric stick tape to apply to the underside which may or may not work but wondering if anyone else had had similar issues?

Now then, when a man who holds more Mesa stock than do Mesa buys a new Mesa unit we should all sit up and take notice 👍
