  1. Past hour
  2. 600 quid. You get a discount on the tools too My luthier that I've always used has retired now, although he still does a few jobs for his mates (I have a neck reset that needs doing on my hofner) I have decided it can't be that hard I understand how to level frets and know that they have to be crowned after levelling. May as well learn to remove frets, plane the board and fit new ones etc you can buy tools that show you when the neck is dead straight, so you can start levelling etc Crimson guitars down Dorset way
  3. And you have a reply (grin)
  4. You’ve got PM

  5. I just had the extraordinary pleasure of a phone chat with Dave Green. I left him a note on Ashdown's webform, and received a pretty much immediate reply of 'Give me a call let's chat'. I think I learned more about tube amps in 10 mins than I have in the previous 25 years, and also had at least three belly laughs as he described the logic underpinning his choice of EQ curves for the tube amp in question. Sdaly I had to take the girls to the edntist or we'd still have been talking! What can I say other than thank God there's still guys like Dave and businesses like Ashdown. Many thanks Dave, hope to be buying some more stuff from you soon 👍
  6. Surfing With The Alien - Joe Satriani
  7. Among The Cybermen - Geezer Butler
  8. Did some changes, took back Big Muff.
  9. I will immediately return to 1990 and instruct my past self to amend his ways. TBH, most people who write off piezo never encountered properly designed PA horns rather than the tatty little cheap ones.
  10. You might have to hold your horses. theres a band meeting been called. I’ve obviously raised some valid concerns and I don’t really want to leave. i wont lie - ive not been in a great mental space recently so maybe the band has copped for it… i dunno:
  11. To me it sounds thin, farty and mid scooped. But I digress... I suppose this is a somewhat thin tone too, but at the same time monterous, and very snappy and punchy, I love this P tone:
  12. Silver Machine - Hawkwind
  13. Thank you Joe - yes, pretty much the same with the neck. I'm far from Jaco, but those who've played on this have all commented how wonderful it plays & with eyes closed is basically the best of the Fender MIJs!
  14. Today
  15. I'd like to do a guitar course like that. Would be very handy.
  16. The sb-2 is a great model in the G&L lineup. I love the dual volume approach and mfd pickups are great. GLWTS
  17. Although the photo isn't quite square, the saddle peaks look normally staggered to me. Nice score, BTW, I'm suitably jealous.
  18. A rather long winded workaround is to split the stems of the tracks, so you can isolate the bass. Either try and learn note for note, or find a DAW that can turn the audio in to midi notes and use those to work things out.
