  2. My Warwicks and two Antoniotsais - Just-A-Nut I. I've got a couple of zero fret instruments. Most of them are nylon. I'm about to try to make a brass nut for one.
  3. This is interesting, it's the measured response curves of the SVT212. Obviously ignore the top end because we won't be using a tweeter but the bottom end shows a similar roll off to your speakers in a 90l cab, It rolls off really quite high from 150Hz but also quite gradually so it is around -10db @ 50Hz. There's a big drop in everything at around 1300 Hz, which I'm guessing is the crossover. The red line is the response straight ahead and the colours are off axis. You cvan see how much the mids are lost off axis and this is increased because of the sideways displacement of the speakers. You get quite a lot of off axis fall off anyway due to the size of the 12" drivers but the cab is over 600mm wide so it's like having a 24" driver rather than a 12. Above 2,000Hz you are looking at the response of the horn which isn't relevant if you are building a tweeterless cab. I'm not a purist in these things, if you've tried the SVT and love the sound then you can build something like a horn free SVT. Without a horn the off axis problems will be worse but if you tried it with the horn turned off and still liked it then that's clearly somethign that doesn't worry you. If you want a cab the same width as your amp but with the speakers in line then you can do that too and it will be slightly easier to hear yourself on stage.
  4. Just picked this up, thanks I havent really pushed it to be honest but will give that a try
  5. Today
  6. The guitars I've built myself, bone. The guitars & basses I've bought? Not a clue without looking, and certainly nothing I'd lose sleep over though
  7. And like this 64
  8. Sounds like a fake then
  9. Selling this bass as I originally picked it up as a backup to my main touring 4 string, a white MM with all the same mods. They’re both great basses but I don’t have as much need for a direct duplicate as I used to and it’s too good to be sat around not being played. I had it re sprayed with this smokey black burst which maintains the look of the natural grain. It’s picked up some nicks and scuffs which I’ve pictured. I love the way it looks and sad to let it go. The neck has a beautiful flame to it and it and the fretboard are unblemished. Fitted with a John East MM preamp, hipshot drop tuner and schaller style strap locks, otherwise all original and in great condition. Will ship in UK for £30 or meet in London area. Open to offers and happy to answer any questions. Thanks! James

  12. Yeah, looks like they've stuck a spaghetti-type decal on it, as mentioned by SurroundedByManatees above, which was never used on a Jazz, only P-basses up until the mid-60s transition period. P.s. as far as I know, it was always a waterslide decal on top of the lacquer until they brought in the TV logo at the end of the 60s, after which they nitro lacquered over the top of it, hence why most well-used late 60s-70s fender headstocks have gone brown over time.
  13. Hello.
  14. Is there a difference?
  15. ...is that the Quick Start Guide Instruction Sheet for the Boss TU-2?.. 🤣
  16. Looks like a P bass decal rather than jazz bass
  17. Good condition MIDI controller in working order with original packaging. One small mark on front edge. Clean Velcro applied to underside. Price includes UK postage. Collection welcome.
  18. They sound beautiful when pushed with a P Bass.
  19. The time it got REAL hot, it was running into an Eden ex112 4ohm cab. I've used that setup before but not had that heat issue. Only difference i can remember were my settings. I had cranked the gain on the amp quite high, something around 3 o'clock i think and the master volume was about halfway. I was running the tidal wave, drive about 3/4, volume maybe just below halfway. I was also using the zoom b1on with a distorion pedal almost always on. Sounded awesome but like i said, the amp did get hot.
  20. That would do it for sure. The amp will be cooler running into an 8Ω load that if it was pushing a 4Ω one.
  21. I think it’s worth bearing in mind that if you bought this, and then later decided to move it on, all the questions you’re asking now will get asked by potential buyers. I’d imagine plenty of them would have reservations about the same things we’ve discussed here, so it might not be the easiest bass to sell. If it’s a great player, then you might be ok, but if it’s not (and a warped neck won’t help) then I fear you’d be stuck with a bit of a dog.
  22. I have copies of some of the Eminence designs. David Basslite_S2012_cab.pdf
