I only listened to a couple of bands and the bass wasn't there. The band I watched first was Chic and I couldn't hear any bass whatsoever. I mean a sound engineer that mixes Chic with no bass, should hang their head in shame. And I was playing it through hi fi speakers.

I wonder whether the X32 rack is overkill for your needs. As has been suggested, there will be a steep learning curve and many features that you do not need. Why not go for a CQ20. You already know the basic CQ philosophy. The only limitation as far as I can see it 6 six outs. That is only a problem if everyone wants a separate stereo mix.

Never sounds too bad for me. I just put the AV receiver into pure audio mode and turn the volume up.

Selling these value for money pedals because they are now surplus to requirements. add £3.50 for postage within mainland Sonicake Octaver. a very very good Boss OC2 clone £20 Sonicake Cloud Chorus v1 . Bucket Brigade type chorus. I read somewhere that the V1 sounds better than the V2 but I cannot confirm it as I havent tried the newer version. Together with the Sonic Ambience it worked very well with my fretless. £20 Sonicake Sonic Ambience Reverb/Delay. Nice options and with Tap Tempo option. £25 Can be collected in Aylesbury. Only trade I will consider is for a Valeton GP-5 Thanks.

Hello everyone, Having upgraded both my touring and backup boards to Cioks power supplies, this is now surplus to requirements. It has recently been serviced and re-capped, and everything works well. It comes with a useful amount of standard 2.1mm pedal leads in both short & long lengths, including the Voodoo Labs 18V adaptor lead, and a pair of mounting brackets. Also included, but not photographed, is a brand-new Thomann UK kettle/IEC lead. Everything is in used, but good overall condition, and ready to go to work! EDIT: Now looking for just £85 for the lot, which includes mainland UK postage. No offers or trades please. Please message me if interested, and thanks for looking! Etienne

It doesn't help that the sound, from the BBC, always sounds weak. I assume it's because they're just taking the live feed from the desk. I have noticed that the sound of many of the videos does get 'tweaked' and remixed at a later date. Which can restore stuff, like the missing bass and bring down the ridiculously prominent bass drum. Interesting discussion on reddit about the subject

Hi Alan, as far as I can make out the only basses in production are S23, Chris Wolstenholme Signature, VMAN Signature and maybe Electro-5. I can see there are only a couple of stock basses for sale. If you download the price list it shows the prices for S23, Chris Wolstenholme Signature and VMAN Signature and states "Status Graphite Bass price list : March 2024 PLEASE NOTE : THESE ARE THE ONLY MODELS CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION" Not sure if this help.

I’m sure you can , but if it’s fenders that only appeal to you then you probably won’t want anything else , I’ve had many other makes but always end up going back to a fender precision or jazz

Iron Maiden in Bremen in a fortnight this evening. I'd hoped they'd come to Hamburg, but I've invited my school mate who along with me is also 50 this year (funny that!) and his wife so we'll make a weekend of it. Matt and I will go to the concert whilst the wives can babysit our littleun. 2 is a bit young still for an evening concert, but he'll get there

I've owned three American basses. A 75 reissue American Vintage, a Deluxe Jazz (both now sold) and a Precision Elite. I bought the first two second hand and the Elite new. The RRP of the 75 reissue was about £2.5 k, when bought new, and the Elite cost me £1.9k. The two Jazzes played beautifully with very low action. Were they worth the money, if bought new? Well you can buy a less expensive bass and take it to a guitar tech who will get it to play fantastically. I have a parts Jazz, with a Korean Squier neck, and a vintage modified body, which has been set up really nicely and plays as good as my American Jazzes did. I own a Japanese Fender that also plays beautifully. So logically, buying American doesn't buy you a bass that plays better than a much cheaper instrument, so you may ask 'what's the point in spending so much more money?' . Is it kudos? Peer pressure? The American dream? I bought my American basses because I wanted a 'Real' Fender, not one of those copies from overseas (however good they might be). Ironically, when I bought my brand new Fender Elite it didn't have 'Made in the USA' on it, because, legally it isn't actually an American bass, as too many components are made overseas. These days Fender instruments have 'Corona California' stamped on them instead.

I have yet to be in the same room as a top end Fender Custom Shop instrument, let alone play one. I would dearly love to, just to see if they're worth the considerable wedge. To date, the best Fender-style bass I have ever played was a Celinder Jazz. It was sublime. The CS basses would have to go some to beat that. Generally though, I have to say that this is also my usual answer to anything bass.

Price dropped to just £300 collected from Benfleet in Essex, 20 mins east of the Dartford crossing along the A13. I could theoretically meet half way if not too far, even deliver for the cost of fuel within reason. Absolutely no couriers - against my better judgement I sent some stuff recently and it only went according to plan once - I have dropped the price to tempt people into a road trip!

This looks incredible. Could easily replace a few individual pedals straight away. Those presets programmed by IMA are worth the price of admission alone; from the sounds in the demo he’s nailed 8 of the most immediately useful bass synth tones you’d be looking to achieve. Can’t wait to get my hands on one. Thanks for sharing 👍

Agreed - the AVRI/American Vintage/American Original/American Vintage II line instruments can be sublime. You still have to try before you buy, but these instruments are always very faithful to the period they are copied from. The nitro finishes in particular make a huge difference to the sound/character of the bass, and they always have that 'just right' feeling to them.
