  4. I got a g Larry generic {P bass}. That I bought from Temu a little over a year ago for $75. A few months back I bought a blended two band active preamp from Temu."I was planning on installing it in my jazz bass. Since it came on the [Jazz]control plate." Where would I put the battery in my P bass? Is what you are asking me. The battery will sit underneath the pickguard. I done routed out part of the body underneath the pickguard. Everything fits under there like it was meant to be there. I figured out why I keep getting the hissing sound. Even though I seen it many times online. When I was looking for ideas on different wiring for guitars and basses. Active preamps or pickups the ground wire goes in to the ground on the upper Jack right? Then you got another ground that comes off that output Jack straight to the ground right? I removed the original output Jack. Because I believe that it was actually a little bit too long for my generic p-bass. So I replaced it with the mono output Jack. When I read or watch the video about preamps and action pickups and all that. You need a stereo output Jack to run active preamps and pickups right? That is why I was getting the hissing sound. I learned one big thing though. It had a 500K pot for the volume. (I actually do not like 500K potentiometers!)Well I replaced the mono TS pot for I switched mono output Jack. That is what I was holding in my hand took a picture of. I also had to replace the MN 250k blend pot. I put the same value potentiometer in place of the blend pot that came out. The only reason why I did that. Is because the blend pot that came with the preamp. Had a little small circuit board attached to it. Diodes capacitors resistors semiconductors conductors attach ed to the circuit board that was attached to the blend pot. I hope that me summarizing of what I said last night or early this morning. Kind of clear things up for y'all. If not I'm sorry I apologize. This s*** I've been through in my entire 48 years on this planet.

  7. Great condition Rockboard DUO 2.1 except for two aesthetic blemishes on the side. Comes with velcro and soft gig bag. I have replaced the zippers latches with more durable ones. Shipment included in price or can meet in London and knock £5 from the total.
  8. Excellent condition mini FET compressor. Includes box goodies (manual, sticker, plectrum, rubber feet). Controls are volume, compression (threshold), and blend. Very versatile on guitar & bass. 9. I find with the artists mentioned here , what works for me is to watch them sparingly . I’ve watched a basinful of Charles Berthoud , and don’t bother much these days if at all. I was searching for Michael manring the other day to see what he’s up to . Then I found a couple of really nice clips of manring and Berthoud together which was really nice to watch. I do like Davie , and noted he had a battle with you tube which was worrying for him. I saw a few clips of him in different countries trying out basses in his usual humour and that was entertaining for me . Sapko I’m finding grating and not really my bag . Too shouty like an aggressive George formby for my ears . Too clickbaity ! Last of all ..Scott Devine ! I used to follow him a few years back . Very open , down to earth etc . Then the little irritating reminders in the middle of clips to sign up . He just seems to be over the top clickbaity now ! Captions about why 5 strings are crap etc with his face looking at me . I understand that there are trends that these YouTubers have to compete with others incase they miss out ,but not for me so I won’t click on anything like that.I have unsubscribed from a couple of music sites because of YouTubers copying the jokey style of others that are about as funny as James Corden or Russell Brand . It’s a shame that it’s all about algorithms..

  17. Thanks for the reply, no I don't intend changing the tuners on the 735. Just thought it odd that my 425 has adjustable tuners and the higher priced 735 just had a basic Fender type tuner unit. I agree re - expensive basses I have hipshot light tuners on a £2000 bass and they are not the best.
  18. If you are selling it to a retailer in my experience you are looking at half the selling price they will advertise it at so you might take a large hit on the bass. I have sold stuff through Bass Direct and Bass Bros who usually charge 20% on a commission sale but I have had good results with both and Bass Bros will buy stuff from you outright. Unless you are selling gear for a good price at the moment it can take a while to shift privately.

  21. Not necessarily, that was a bit of a postcode lottery in any case even by the 80s/90s, and in my case the subsidy (limited to only those who passed an aptitude test) went towards a different instrument.
  22. Lovely, same as mine! 🤘Excellent choice - I’m amazed how many people admire the colour…..it really strikes with everyone.
  23. If you have nothing against remote digital exams and ebooks, Trinity is offering the "same" 8 grades as ABRSM, at way less. I bought the whole shebang for the 8 grades, including scales, arpeggios, exercises, pieces, sight reading, music theory with workbooks and model answers as well as audio, for £247,01 this year, just to reassess my level for fun and only for myself with my tutor, but without taking the exams as, at 60 years old, these sheets of paper called diplomas are of no use for me and I can already play pieces from grade 8. As a new subscriber, you get 25% off on your first order, and if you buy a bundle, you'll get 50% off on one sight reading book (the cheaper IIRC). Until today at 23:59 there's also a 25% off without being registered. This is what I bought: https://store.trinitycollege.com/collections/piano-exam-pieces-plus-exericses-from-2023-extended-edition/products/all-grades-bundle-piano-exam-pieces-from-2023-extended-edition https://store.trinitycollege.com/collections/piano-exam-support-material/products/sight-reading-piano-initial-grade-1 https://store.trinitycollege.com/collections/piano-exam-support-material/products/sight-reading-piano-grades-3-5 https://store.trinitycollege.com/collections/piano-exam-support-material/products/sight-reading-piano-grades-6-8 https://store.trinitycollege.com/collections/theory-of-music-workbooks The syllabus is free: https://www.trinitycollege.com/resource?id=9166 https://www.trinitycollege.com/qualifications/music/grade-exams/about And here are the fees for all and everything: https://support.trinitycollege.com/support/solutions/articles/202000096448-fees-and-payment-uk-ireland#:~:text=This article provides the official fees and,are outside of the UK and Ireland%2C Worth a check, no?
  24. To add a little to what Phil has said, it is tricky to truly compare like with like across different manufacturer's offerings without just building some cabinets and having a listen. One spec that's not always published but does tell you something useful is Xlim. That is commonly defined as the actual amount a speaker can move before damage. Celestion have provided info on Xlim in email exchange before, I've always found them very helpful. In general I've always found Celestions to perform very well in practice. Gigging rig years ago was a pair of 12" Celestion PA drivers, Xmax 2.5mm. Never ran out of juice on a gig. A decade ago I built two 110 cabinets loaded with sadly discontinued NTR10-2520D. The Xmax is 'only' 4mm (I chose these over the long-throw E version due to midrange response) but mechanical Xlim is 13mm. I have used single cabs as subs before for indoor gigs and again they've never come up wanting. On bass, the pair cover me for anything I do up to the point where I'm on a stage where serious monitors and PA take over. In contrast I have blown Eminence Deltalite II 2510 before and reading online this seems to be fairly easy to do. Xlim somewhere around 8mm I think. Published Xmax 4.2mm and same wattage, but not the same class of driver as the Celestion in practice.
  25. Bass bins obvs. 😄
