Nice song, enjoyed that. Dave
-
I actually played the whole first set with it It sounded fine thru the boss gx unit. It was treblier than my usual guitar but cleaned up nicely when the volume was backed off. Tone control didn't do much till it was back right off I might check what value the pots are. But very very happy with it

So you're more a musician than any one specific instrument. 👍 Dave

The very excellent Boss ME-90B for those who prefer physical knobs, buttons and foot switches. It's a great pedal indeed, save your own presets or use it as an all in one pedalboard. Packed with features and incredibly reliable. Loving the amp simulations now that I'm using in-ears a lot. Reason for sale: I have other pedal based things like my wireless system and I want to put them on a board so unfortunately this needs to go to make room. It's been very well looked after and will come with a power supply and the original box. Pickup from London, Cambridge or St Albans. Or I can post it to you at cost.

Sorry to hear about the drunk punter incident. I guess no chance a good clean is going to eliminate the stain without leaving a "cleaned patch" on it? "Sound wise it's a big step up from the Stomp and Ampero II" is a key comment though - that's obviously a big reason why folk might be prepared to fork out a hefty premium. Can you elaborate on the sound difference you're hearing between the Anagram and the other two and on what particular fx it's most noticeable on?
-
That's a great looking bass, Delbert. Hopefully it has that P-punch that fills out the sound which we all enjoy. I know I'm enjoying coming back to the Precision for the first time in about 7 years with the American Professional Classic. What happened with the Warmouth-Status Jazz? How did it fail on the gig?

2026 SE Bass Basheroonie - 4th October 2026 - Date Change!

I'm good for the date change -
IMO the pre-shape is there to make the amps sound impressive when you try them in the shop. They have minimal use in real-world situations.
-
I never use the pre-shape on my TE1200 as I'm predominantly a fingersman. The old GP12SMX (still the best bass preamp ever made IMO) had two pre-shapes, one of which was far more usable in the real world than the other. But I still never used it live.

As it happens I realised last night a p!$$ed punter at our NYD show slammed a drink down on a nearby table and it's stained the case - so I won't be returning mine regardless now 🤦♂️. I'll add that workflow wise it takes the flexibility of the HX stomp routing and the intuitive UI of the Ampero Stomp II (my only modern multi fx experience) and improves again. Sound wise I'd also say it's a big step up from the Stomp and Ampero (as it should be for the money). I'd say if you've got genuine interest in the unit and you're more open minded to digital than I am I think it's worth a look but I'd buy from somewhere with a good returns policy just in case

Emerging from the London pubs with their own unique combination of ‘50s Rock ‘n’ Roll and Cockney Music Hall, much-loved duo Chas & Dave had hits such as Gertcha, Rabbit, Margate, Ain’t No Pleasing You and Snooker Loopy’; had their own TV series, numerous one-off specials and were the subjects of ‘This Is You Life’; and played Glastonbury, Knebworth, Hyde Park and the Royal Albert Hall. Some Latin loveliness from Ruben Blades and the Lincoln Centre Jazz Orchestra featuring the bass player Carlos Henriquez. The tune is 'Pedro Navaja' which is essentially Kurt Weill's 'Mac The Knife' with new lyrics. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/pedro-navaja-mac-the-knife-ruben-blades-w-lincoln-centre-jazz-orchestra/

FTFY As for drugs and creativity. Maybe very creative people are frequently struggling with various demons that drive their creativity and make them more susceptible to self medication? Being very organised with a good routine, fitness schedule, healthy lifestyle with a good diet and early nights I am sure helps with mental health and physical well being. It might not lead to a life filled with experiences and song writing opportunities.

I agree. The irony is though that most of the gigs I’ve ever done have been funded by the sale of alcohol. Without people paying for booze I probably would have followed a different career path. I’ve seen many colleagues fail, and lost a couple of friends due to it too and yet somehow managed to stay mainly on the straight and narrow myself. Had a few times when I’ve deviated but nothing serious, and I know I can’t play well when I’ve had more than a couple of drinks.
