I am selling off all my basses except for three, two of which are 32" scale - I just find them so comfy. But it has to be said that I dwell down in the depths of the budget end of the market. That said my budget basses have kept me gigging for the past couple of decades. Aria Pro II CSB range are medium scale with models at different price points. They are all good. I have the top end of the range model CSB 450 Black n Gold for sale in the classifieds for a giveaway £300 but, perhaps, not after tomorrow as someone is coming to look at it. Hondo II H1015 are medium scale. Necks on these are utterly superb lumps of maple. Heavy basses, mind. Known for the 3-point bridges to lift but that is an easy fix, often fitted with DiMarzio pickups as stock. Some Westone Concords are medium scale, some long scale. They are excellent and go for very little money, pickups in these are tremendous, very powerful. I believe there are one or two medium scale Westone Thunder basses, too. Fender do medium scale Precisions and Jazzes, usually MIJ for the domestic market, but they pop up fairly regularly. MIJ Squiers, also. I've had several over the years, notably an A series Squier Precision that was one of the best basses I've owned. Should never have sold it. The best of all the 32" scale basses I have tried/owned is the Yamaha SB-15. Superb. Rare, though, but you never know. Any of the above are pretty straight forward things and not scary to take a punt at second hand. There isn't much to go wrong and, if it does, it is usually easily and inexpensively corrected. I've not tried one but Ibanez Mezzo also gets a lot of love on here.

In my experience, Alan at ACG makes some of the best medium scale basses in the world. For your £1000 ‘new’ budget, you can pick up a pretty decent spec ACG 2nd hand. In fact, there is one for sale on BC right now…

We talk a lot about Spector basses but don’t share the sounds very often, so hopefully this’ll make a change. I’ve been editing the recording of the cover band’s last gig and thought I’d just post these snippets of my gigging basses. Depending on the song, it’s either the Bahama Blue (Jap Import) Euro 4 LX with the maple board and black blocks or the Amber Euro 4). Both have EMGs and an LHZ-03 dimed going through a GK Fusion 550 with an Origin Cali 76 comp. FoH is taking a DI from the 550 postEQ+FX. The 550 is going through an LFSys Monaco on stage. Recorded with a Zoom H2n mounted above the mixing booth at the back of the venue. These clips should give you an idea of what it sounds like both up and down in the mix. You can hear some of the top end sizzle and clank cutting through in places. One trick pony? Yep. But it’s the best trick in the World and it’s a golden winged pony. Gotoh 201B-4 Chrome Bass Bridge with Brass Saddles with 19mm string spacing. The best and coolest high mass bridge upgrade option, brand new and never taken out its box. I bought this for a bass that I ended up selling before I had the chance to get it fitted. £36 including postage in the UK only. Here's my feedback thread to prove I ain't a wrongun':

Don't get fooled. Most low cost "isolated" power supplies are not really isolated. The isolation they speak of is that each output has its own short circuit protection.
-
To reverse the demagnetisation, you'll need a lot of specially designed apparatuses, so it will be cheaper to change the pickup...

QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts One of two - priced individually or for a small discount if sold as a pair. This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. Specifications from QSC below - Features Class-D amplifier with 1000W peak power output Selectable contours (presets) for quick setup Advanced DSP with Intrinsic Correction™ Superior sound quality and speaker protection Directivity Matched Transition™ (DMT) ensures uniform coverage across the entire sound field Suitable for use as a main PA, stage monitor or instrument amplifier 35mm pole mount socket Lightweight and incredibly portable Specifications Configuration: Two-Way Active Low Frequency Driver: 12'' Cone Woofer High Frequency Driver: 1.4'' Compression Frequency Response: 49Hz - 20kHz, -6dB 47Hz - 20kHz, -10dB Sound Pressure Level: 126dB (Maximum) Nominal Coverage: 75° Axisymetric Amplifier Type: Class-D Amplifier Power: 1000W (Peak) Input Connectors: 2 x XLR/TRS Combo (Line and Mic/Line) 1 x 3.5mm TRS Stereo Output Connector: 1 x XLR (Mix) Controls: Power 2 x Gain Mic Boost Push Switch 6-Way Contour Selection Switch Indicators: Power LED 2 x Input Signal LEDs Input B MIC Selected LED Limiter Active LED Power Supply: 100V - 240V, 50Hz/60Hz Enclosure Material: Polypropylene Grille: 18 Gauge Powder Coated Steel Dimensions: 516mm x 350mm x 323mm / 20.3'' x 13.8'' x 12.7'' (H x W x D) Weight: 13.7kg / 30.3lbs

Anyone need a PA amp? Usual excellent Crown quality, this amp has only had light use and comes in a Chord carry bag. Not sure what the total weight is, but the amp on its own is under 4kg, so very portable XLR inputs, Speakon outputs for most users, plus various other options as per photos As well as standard Stereo, the amp can be configured as follows: Crossover Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on Channel 1 and a HighPass Filter on Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. LowPass Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=LPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 1 at the frequency chosen. HighPass Mode (CH1=HPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a HighPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. You can also put it into 'Bridge' mode for seriously high levels of output (according to the spec 1.5kW into 4ohm) Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier to you at cost.

What Do I Need To Properly Re-Glue An Acoustic Guitar Bridge?
PaulThePlug replied to binky_bass's topic in Other Instruments
If you don't have deep clamps, maybe some M5 or M6 bolts, penny washers, and wing nuts - to Align and Clamp via the string pin holes. Although not as tasty as Crispy Chilli Beef. -
These tuners came from a JMJ Roadworn Mustang but I assume they will fit any Fender with a similar post size and screw pattern. They are full size tuners with a wider post unlike the Gotoh version that was made to fit the MIJ Mustang basses. I’m sorry I don’t know the model number. They have been lightly aged so wouldn’t look out of place on a vintage Fender needing a better quality tuner. They come with mounting screws and ferrules. Pickup preferred but I can post for free UK only. Thanks

TLDR version: It's my clone of a Prunes and Custard in a really small case, it's a DIY pedal I made myself but to a fairly high standard. It sounds amazing! The last three I'll ever do... Long version: I like making pedals, and have made quite a few for myself - often of things, like this, that seem to be unavailable to buy new. @lee650 convinced me to try a Prunes and custard. But I didn't have space on my board - so wondered if I could fit it all in a mini (1590a) size enclosure... Then I saw the fancy Gorva M45 which is 5mm or so wider ... but crucially if you use the right Lumberg jacks, you can get top jacks into it! The PCB is a combination of SMD parts (resistors, a couple of ceramic caps, most diodes and IC) and through hole for capacitors and one diode. Mini 3PDT footswitch is low activation pressure and nice. The Gorva M45 is the most expensive part of the build in matt black - and I designed a fern leaf design for it printed in gloss on black by Gojira here in the UK. The original Prunes and Custard being made in New Zealand, and the fern leaf and er... All Black design influenced by the country of origin and watching the All blacks as my kiwi uncle introduced me to rugby... Importantly the LED is green. This is the kind of detail that matters. But making a small batch it meant I could get the SMD parts of PCB assembled and it made the unit price on the printing make sense. I had 10 PCB and bulked a bit at the cost to build them all up (plus that gets out of hand!) so made 6. Seems quite a few of you wanted and sold. Then someone messaged me asking if I was going to make more, I wasn't but due to being in the country for only a short time, they took mine - so I guess I had to build the rest up. These are the same as the last batch - with the following changes... I made a breakout board for the footswitch. Lumberg seem to have stopped doing their power jacks - this has a multi comp pro one (ie not a no-brand cheap one) I used CPC's own brand jacks, they are Japanese made so high quality. One of them I'm keeping but there were three more I made up Like before I offer the final three here for £85. Which will be £89 including first class postage here in the UK. There's one where I scratched the finish slightly - so there's a discount - which will be £75 or 79 including postage. Controls are gain, mix and volume, high cut is guitar/bass on the original (I think) and ... cuts the top end, low cut is contour on the original and in the down position adds clean lows back in. It sounds like a prunes and custard. It's very small. Did I mention how small it is? NOTE: compact jacks, like EBS, needed.
