Now I'm confused. What are you losing here? The USB on the PreSonus is connected to one of the four USB interfaces on the Pi 5 (or 4). So you still have three USB interfaces left on the Raspberry. The other interface on the Presonus is in use as it's doing the I/O to the Pi which is what it should be doing. @tauzero wants to use the Presonus interface What am I missing? Rob

I bought an item recently from Dave. All went well. Good comms, prompt delivery and great price. What more can you ask for?! Thanks Dave!

Yes the original key is F. I was being optimistic with 180, it actually goes at about 240! What I'm kicking myself about is that in my memory the piano part did a much heavier chord on the 1 of each two-bar phrase, like BOOM! da-da-da-da-da-da-daaa, BOOM! da-da-da-da-da-da-daaa-daaaa, and how much more McCoy Tyner than that can you even get? NONE MORE MCCOY TYNER.

A Euro NSCR, Euro, Euro LX or CST is 'a proper Spector'. I love the US ones but, personally, I would never buy a new one as the Euro range are 95% there. As long as you have EMGS, add an LHZ preamp and noone would know the difference. The DG Legacy preamp is closer to the Haz in sound than the BTS or Tonepump imho....

My Marathon is lightweight too, and rather neck heavy, being an 8-string. I thought they all had obeche bodies, a wood that's about 60% of the weight of ash.

Micing for home / studio recording

@Ramirez these are all great points. As you say, the room makes all the difference. For my home recording I use a Line Audio CM4, and I am very impressed with the quality of sound I'm getting. A great affordable solution, and honestly you would need to go right to the top of the pile for small diaphragm condensers before things are noticeably better, IMHO. Think Schoeps, Neumann etc. There is lots of helpful discuss about these mics on Talkbass as well. Best sound I every got in the studio, the engineer said he had recorded Dave Holland the week before, and was going to use the same technique. To wit: one large diaphragm condenser angled at the bridge at 45 degrees (about 50cm away) in cardioid pattern, and one large diaphragm condenser horizontal and turned on its side in figure of 8 pattern. In a sense capturing the front and the sides of the bass. Wonderful sound. -

You are right, it's indeed Passion Dance from Mc Coy Tyner. I played your partition on the piano, but it didn't ring a bell, certainly because I couldn't get the feeling. But now here's what I hear and I hear an F as the first note, not a D, sorry for the writing, but it's not the most important thing to me as I use it as a reminder only...

Riiiight, that's what was confusing me, so you essentially lose the ability to use the USB interface as a USB interface. Not the end of the world but definitely makes it more complicated.
