It of a bargain with unique history by the looks of it. Fixer upper? He was also selling another amp too -
For trade absolutely stunning Rob Allen MB-2 in Koa, bought earlier this year, never left the house, immaculate showroom condition. This MB-2 bass features a beautiful 1 piece mahogany body, semi hollow design (with solid centerblock), and a stunning curly koa, with f-hole, made from aged koa wood that has been seasoning for over 50 years. The faux tortoiseshell binding is made from celluloid nitrate. The 34’ scale neck is made from mahogany, with aged Indian rosewood fingerboard. The nickel-silver tiny mandolin sized frets introduce very little metal to the string path, and are also a slightly softer material than regular bass frets, so they keep the tone warm. The strings are La Bella 760n, which are a steel flatwound design, with a thin outer wrapping of nylon tape. This makes them very smooth and easy to the touch, and they produce virtually no wear on the frets due to the nylon wrap. The mahogany body/mahogany neck wood combo gives this bass a really nice warm resonant sound with good mids, while still being punchy. A form fit G & G case, made locally in Los Angeles Ca, rounds out the package. looking to trade for synths etc. specs are; •Serial Number: #1641 •Origin: USA •Year: 2024 •Body Material: Semi-hollow Mahogany with curly koa “drop top” plus “F hole” •Colour: Natural •Finish: Satin •Neck Finish: Satin •Neck Material: eastern rock maple •Fingerboard: Aged Indian Rosewood •Inlays: n/a – Side dots •Pickups: Piezo •Electronics: Active •Hardware: black •Gig Bag/Case: Case •Frets: Fretted •String Spacing: 19mm •Nut Width: 42mm •Scale Length: 34” •Weight: 2.55kg/5lbs10oz

No worries. I've been working through a lot of LKJ bass lines, they really sound simple, but... they 'ain't. Reggae is tough.

funkle started following Warwick Gnome or Trace Elf?

Never mind that I'm already considering that in a 20 minute change over (+ line check), we're not going to have time to route 5 vocal mics and the drum mics via our system... could be £1200-£1500 for something that a lot of these gigs are just not going to be able to accommodate. Does anyone ( @mike257 ) know what the standard procedure is if a band rocks up with a racked 16 ch splitter and X32 and wants / needs the 5 vocal mics and drums routed through our system... in a 20-30 min turnaround?

Al Nico started following Spector attacked me at the pawn shop

I was just strolling down the high street off to see my next client when a yellow fronted shop that I was familiar with suggested I go in and have a look if there are any bargain phones to replace my old smashed one. I'm not sure if they had any phones, but they did have a Spector bass guitar, and it was making sad eyes at me and looked hungry, but healthy. The helpful and friendly assistant was decorated quite heavily in steel, nickel, and iron face studs and piercings. I sought prior permission to try the bass to show manners and reduce any risk of injury once the magnetic coils are activated. I have a Harley Benton TB-70 that ambushed me last time I got trapped in this same shop, and the first thing I noticed was the Spector felt small and light. Second thing I noticed was the action was high for my taste, then I notice the strings seemed slack, but it made a good sound and was playable. I'll sort the action soon. I don't know which one it is but it says it was made in China, so quite exotic. It has for variable controls that are entirely unintuitive and make unpredictable and quite drastic changes. Unfortunately the manual has been lost. All rolled fully clockwise is a good sound so sticking with that for now. It has EMG-SSD pickups. I'll go and look all this up soon and find out what I've bought. The tuners are good. The wood grain pattern on the body refracts and changes pattern changing viewing angle. Might be real, but the finish coating is that nasty warm plastic feeling polythene wrap. I have a rotary sander that could fix that. Day one today so we're still a bit nervous of touching each other but we seem to have found some common ground that might lead to a beautiful crescendo. It's all in the fingers.

Trace Elliot - Rescue & Restore (and bargain finds)

Interesting conversion of a combo head. I particularly like the apparently redundant addition of the UV lamp grill underneath the stainless steel front panel. I wonder what the cable ties are securing on the rear panel? -

Building a band system to isolate IEM mixing from venue / engineer

It does give you the option of using AES50 for a digital split if the FOH is also using an x32 product. -
Yup I just shrugged indicated the blue sparkly IEM plug and mouthed “I can’t hear you” 🤷🏼♂️🤣
