Feedback for Quent. Quent is a great guy to do business with and the transaction was very smooth. Great comms! Cheers Quent.

Bought around 12 mths ago as a B Stock from Guitar Village. The B stock label is due to the paint dent on the arm contour. I have drop filled it slightly with black nail varnish and it has never bothered me but it is there. I upgraded the wiring to a 60’s style loom from Jagged Offset guitars and had a full set up at PSG Guitars in Radcliffe where my favourite Elites strings were fitted. It has had a bridge cover previously fitted and i do still have the tugbar somewhere. Can provide an old shaped case of needed. Collection would be from Bolton but can discuss meetups and potentially UK postage

With a hard case tho. Try not to look at it through the prism of "it's an Epiphone" or "it's made in China" or whatever. You're buying a G-3. Your options right now are the Epi at £1200, around £2500 for a used OG Gibson G-3, or you can commission the likes of Baard or Decibel to custom build you one - can't imagine that'll be cheap.

@Misdee I'm obviously not going to change your mind, but I'm not at all convinced by the alternatives you put forward. Apart from JJ Burnel who had an interesting sound (if you could get past the thuggery and misogyny for which there was no excuse even back in 1977) they were just bass players in their bands and if they weren't also the singer, fairly anonymous. Sting is far more interesting as a songwriter than he is as a bass player. The only remarkable thing about him as a bass player is that most of the early Police songs were played on fretless bass, although if you hadn't seen them live you were unlikely to know that. I suspect that you and me were listening to completely different bands back in the early 80s, but IME if you weren't plodding away at 1/8 root notes or slapping, then you were trying to be Mick Karn or Peter Hook. Maybe it's because what Hooky did was easy and within the reach of almost anyone who picked up a bass that you don't like it? However you can't deny that he changed perceptions of how his choice of instrument could fit into a band and song arrangement. There's not many musicians playing any instrument who can say that. -

Looks like no option as regards 64/66 version but looks an extra switch in the “amp out” of “hi cut” and “lo cut”. Looks like three options on the DI cab sim output too! - Today

I think I've played with this person. A lot of enthusiasm, no ability and a huge amount of weed. Actually, that describes three guitarists I've encountered. -

Me, too. But the thing is I can't seem to remember ever seeing a Spector with a wenge neck. Stuart was adamant about using 3 piece maple necks which were sourced from the East Coast of the US, even exporting these to the Czech workshop for the Euro line. Btw @Angel the NS-5xl example on the picture used to be mine.

DR Sunbeams are a pretty smooth nickel roundwound. Think I recall daddario NYXL feeling slightly smoother than the normal XL strings too (and preferred them in other ways as well).
