  1. Past hour
  2. if you haven't already try Bassbros or Bassdirect, i'm sure they'll move this on for £4k
  3. This is usually the sticking point for a lot of bands. The other is getting the middle aged blokes with instruments to believe in the end product. It's frustrating if the end product is slick, but is let down when the drummer has a scowl on and is thinking his time would be better spent drinking pints of Carling down at the Spoons. Personally I would do a dry run. Get a mate to come to an rehearsal room. Get the band to wear what they're planning to wear. Video a 'live' warts and all performance. Mistakes don't matter. Then watch the resulting car crash back and work out how to improve it. At this point aforementioned drummer will realise how good even a rough video is and get his wife to iron his best shirt. There is nothing worse than looking like a bunch of misfits having paid a lot of money for the privilege.
  4. A really great Mexican P bass from Fender! Bought new from Andertons in 2021 for a handful of gigs, and has been my backup P bass for a couple of years, but has spent most of its life on a guitar rack or in a case. All original apart from the Schaller strap locks (black). No case. Collection only from SW London.

  6. Yep that's what I'm going to do
  7. Guitars? I thought everyone associated Hofner with this. Never saw anyone playing a Hofner guitar.
  8. On the other hand I've never seen a 'name' band toting a Dingwall, for example, and the only Warwick player on my radar ever is/was Zender. Before the inevitable deluge, yes I'm sure there are multiple examples to prove my ignorance but that's the point But Hofner is a brand I'd associate more with guitars, more with jazz, and more with players on the continent - not so much the Anglosphere.
  9. Now priced at £275 until midday Friday (my cut-off for going to the Post Office before Christmas). I've been collecting and pedal-testing solidly since COVID but a lot's been happening this year and, as my priorities are changing, it's time to start letting some of these pedals go, including those that six months ago it would have been unthinkable selling. I'm selling a Doom 2 in Jade Metallic finish. It's from the September 2023 release of 100 pedals and has been given the 'high gain' mod by Spencer at 3 Leaf Audio. The mod makes it a little harsher and more abrasive than the standard gain units but it gets synthy and still has the Doom 2 magic. The mod was originally aimed at guitar players so I'm pricing it at £320 £300 on here. Cosmic Metallic pedal sold. Original ad retained for transparency: Up on the block are a couple of Doom 2s, one being the standard gain unit (in Cosmic Metallic (the purple one)) SOLD and a high gain unit (in Jade Sparkle)). Both units are from the limited runs of 100 in 2023 and are the latest spec. £360 each (including UK Royal Mail Special Delivery postage). Neither has been used on a pedalboard and they're basically mint in box. The Wicked theme was not intentional. I'm not really looking for trades at this point but there are a handful of pedals I'm curious about: COG T-70 v2; Hamstead Subspace GE, and Chase Bliss Spectre.
  10. Phooaarr!! 🥰
  11. Yeah, I was looking at the Ashdown RM 500 EVO III but wondered if the Mesa is on-brand and punches above the 350w rating on an ear test.
  12. It should be a private link on YouTube that you can share with anyone who asks for it.
  13. The ROLAND KD-8 Kick Pad is a lightweight 8-inch high-quality trigger pad designed for V Drums, featuring a solid durable metal and rubber construction. Its compact size and lightweight design make it easy to transport and store, making it a versatile option for drummers looking for a reliable and high-quality kick pad to enhance their performance. Designed to replicate the sound and feel of a traditional kick drum. Great condition: tested and in full working order. Will work with all Roland TD modules. Selling due to kit upgrade. Width: 27cm Depth: 26cm Height: 40.5cm Weight: 6 lbs 7oz Only £55. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred.
  14. The DM610 is a large bookshelf/standmount speaker from renowned hi-fi brand B&W, featuring a well-braced 30-litre sealed cabinet with 8-inch mid-bass driver. The larger driver and extra cabinet space create a much better low end range than from most similar speakers. This model allows for either bi-wiring or bi-amplification. These speakers present clean tight bass response, surprisingly clear mids for such a large driver and the pleasant highs that the well-designed B&W tweeter at that time was famous for. They can be driven quite loud, enough for the physical effect of the bass to be felt without audible distortion or a sense of sound compression. Both speakers are in Very Good condition, especially for their vintage. All-original, complete with full grilles (one of which has a small hole, shown in the final photo). Only £125. Collection from Bournemouth BH6 preferred. Here comes the science bit… Type: 2-way closed, shelf speaker Colour: Ash black veneer Dimensions: 490 x 236 x 303 mm (H x W x D) Weight: 7.8 kg Recommended amplifier power: 30-150 W Frequency response: 70 - 20,000 Hz (±2 dB) Crossover: 2500 Impedance: 4 Ohm
  15. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  16. It bothers me that some of the cables don't go all the way to the edge of the frame!
  17. Love these. Super versatile and the necks on these are brilliant. Don't reckon Santa is bringing me one, but someone is getting a great bass here!
  18. There ain't no Sanity Clause - The Damned
  19. And because I'm a showoff:
  20. I think I'd write off the 25 quid and get rid of the bass tbh. Not an ideal solution but it's one they've suggested, so the path of least resistance.
  21. Plenty of small, reliable and powerful amps around nowadays so you'll have loads of choice But I would be looking for something more powerful than 350w personally. Mainly because I would rather have the headroom and not need it than need it and not have it and especially if the band is picking up and you're getting into some bigger venues. I would be looking at 500w heads at least.
  22. Yep. keep it short and to the point - a minute is plenty! I couldn't get to them before when I was on my phone, but here are a couple of shots from the stalls taken by the singer's husband. I'm stage left, playing the red Tele. The videographer also used a drone to get shots from angles that couldn't otherwise be achieved. The whole thing cost us about £400 at mates' rates, but if you are paying full professional price you will be lucky to get much change from a grand.
  23. Everyone else I've seen on SBL does it by ear, as would I, I never write charts. Not saying either way is better/worse just that not everyone does it the same way. Sharon's no slouch either, she's another ex-Berklee bassist. Back on to Danny though, this is a few months old but it popped up on my YouTube the other night. His comic timing in the first half of the video is brilliant, and then properly shows off his playing chops in the second half.
