Be disappointed. Being unpleasant for no reason isn't an admirable quality, however you may see it.

Sorry, only just seen this post. I have since bought a QC mini again after I returned the first one. it’s my first foray into digital multi effects like this, and I keep finding myself torn between thinking they are amazing, and then that they are more than I need. I also tried the Nano Cortex again as well. Honestly I think both the Anagram and the QC are more than I need, but I currently play in a couple of different cover bands and am hoping to develop some decent presets to enhance and embellish my sounds. They are both very expensive and I think some of my hesitancy is around getting value for money from them. The thing I like most about the QC over the Anagram is the ease of getting captures from the Cortex cloud.

Looks like you didn't notice that I'm a straight no bullshīt person: It's a tad bit disappointing... And could you please stop with that "lost in translation" thing as I'm never translating, because when I'm writing in English, I'm thinking in English, which is the same for French, German, Dutch and Italian.

'Lyria 3' AI music has just been released on Google Gemini. I asked it to make an Afrobeat song about a bread shop in Chichester....30 seconds later, it had made a quite decent song, well 'sung' and alright lyrics about bread 'warming hearts in Chichester'. I'd definitely be worried if I was a professional jingle maker.

No idea but the singer is Piers Morgan 😁

Always a difficult one at Womad because there are three mad acts you have never heard of and will never get the chance to see again clashing at pretty much any moment. But the one that sticks in my mind is Glastonbury 1992. Ozrics who were already 90 minutes late for an extra set in one of the small tents and a girl I had been after for ages and had just randomly met really wanted me to go with her to something or other on the Pyramid stage. I chose music. I saw her next morning snogging some random bloke so it may have seemed tough at the time but it was clearly for the best.

At Rebellion a few years back I’m sure both Booze & Glory and Dirt Box Disco were on at the same time which was a tough choice.

“Rush” UK Tour March 2027
hiram.k.hackenbacker replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
I'm sure there are some fans that feel that way. I'm not one of them. Some of them are probably the same people that think From Genesis to Revelation and Trespass are not Genesis albums and that Phil Collins turned the band into "Genesis" 🤷♂️. It's definitely going to sound different, but I'm fine with that. Must be great for Ged not having to deal with both bass and keys as well this time. I prefer to think of it as a celebration of the work that Neil was a huge part of rather than a money making exercise as a result of his death. Yes, they will make money, but more power to them for going out again. Neil will be remembered and honoured every single night. -
seeing 2/3 of Rush live again would be cool &I doubt Geedy/Alex would go out with a sub if they felt this was in anyway degrading to neil's legacy, when i heard they were thinking of going out again i half expected that either of the mikes (Portny/Mangini) or Virgil Donati would be in the seat as all 3 are Prog Gods of the drum stool! I saw "RUSH" on the washing machine tour at the NEC years ago, they were great and im glad i saw them but the sound was SO bad, far to loud and so much room clatter i came away with a migraine...i'll stick with a show of hands A.I. Upscaled

Theres also the minor point that learning vocabulary and concepts from a teacher will make understanding online videos much easier as you’ll have a better idea of what theyre trying to express -

Festival organisers obviously can't get it 100% right for everyone. For some of us, there will be unfortunate clashes. Last year, I had to make a tough choice between Battlesnakes and God Speed You Black Emperor. I chose Battlesnake and it was brilliant but I know I missed something great. This year its between missing the end of Napalm Death or the start of Primus. Thats a tough one. What's the toughest choice you've had to make at a festival?

I saw Iron Maiden last July. I found myself listening to mistakes and timing issues. I'm not sure whether they were down to Simon, a lack of rehearsal or just the fact that the band hadn't been playing in that form for close on 50 years. I don't trust myself not to be comparing Annika Rush with Neil Rush. It will inevitably be different. Not better or worse, just different. And something jars me when songs are downtuned. I didn't really enjoy them when I saw them last time.

The first album: Finding My Way was on the OGWT; I went out and bought the album next day.

Something more challenging this time. The tune is called 'The Thumb' and is a solo bass feature from the 2015 John Patitucci record 'Brooklyn'. The greatest challenge is the range of the piece and the fact that there are lots of passages which are written 8va. Might take a while to figure it out. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/the-thumb-john-patitucci/
