  2. Speaking of artists, I hear Tony Hart has died. ☹️
  3. I had the Scout 15 combo for about 16 years. I found that the passive radiator could really penetrate through the floor when I was living in a flat. I didn't have the money available for a speaker isolation pod (or frankly know what a speaker isolation pod was when I got the amp). I would practice with the amp sat on a sturdy coffee table or another cab or I would turn the cabinet on its side so the passive radiator wasn't directly facing the ground in the hopes that this would reduce the sub output. In the end I accepted it really wasn't a 'tenement flat' suitable practice rig if I wasn't living on ground floor. It is very much a 'never sell' piece of gear for me. I just consider it to be a classic amp design.
  4. You could probably still take out a private prosecution against that teacher you know. (Just sayin')
  5. I think my own view is I consider myself a Musician, if asked in what, then I would say a bassist. If I am writing music or basslines then I am being creative, if I am putting together a structure or how the song is to be played then I am arranging and if I am playing in front of people then I am performing but the over-arching title I would use is I am a musician.
  6. Looks like MIM parts.. but on a US bass..?
  7. Maybe he doesn't have the skills to write his own? In the same way I can learn a reasonably complex guitar solo note by note but I don't really have the chops to write an original guitar solo myself that's any more complex or interesting than a basic blues improv.
  8. Hi... I have an old vintage bass that has a replacement bridge. The E string saddle spacing bolt has stripped and pulled out. I replaced it with a slightly larger diameter bolt that has held for now. Does anyone have a complete bridge or just a saddle that matches this unknown make of bridge. Many thanks.
  9. Thanks Nick, I play flats for slap - much less offensive and far more melodic to my ear - if it's still around in a week or so I my need to engineer a trip 👍
  10. @Beedster it’s strung with flats at the moment and isn’t very slap friendly. At the mo I would say the plates add attack but not a full on slap tone?
  11. I thought the term was ARTISTE 🤣
  12. Just bought another bass so this has to go now. Plays fab, sounds great, low action, working truss rod, active/passive, straplocks, Hipshot ultralites and Omega high mass bridge which allows string spacing options. These were just over £600 new so £295 seems very fair. Can't find a mark or ding on it. Pretty much mint. Happy to post, I have a carton. Guessing about £15. Or, come and try it out, tea and cake included. Will have new round-wounds fitted.

  13. Yes indeed. Same button-position as found on a Gibson Ripper.
  14. Brilliant, we've Basschatted the thread 👍
  15. Brother is this still available? I am very interested!
  16. It's not that Phillips guy from ebay is it?
  17. Boss ABY switcher, I used to run two basses on a gig and this made it easy to quickly switch between them. Can be used for that purpose or to run one Input and switch between two outputs (effects loops, amps etc). I have no use for this so siting in a box. Yours for £20 posted. Open to offers. Runs on AAA batteries.

  18. Well, both Orville and Leo have been potted for decades, so I don't think it's them.
  19. Really nice looking black & white bass. Are there side dots on the neck, if so are they in line with the “fret” position?
  20. He's an addict, he gets his kicks this way as well as some income. There are people who pretty much rewrite other people's books and sell them on Amazon. They don't do it for the money, they do it because the curious form of status they believe it brings makes them feel good, or at least makes them feel their version of good. This guy's gonna keep on going, he's like gambler or a stalker, the normal rules that apply to people like us just don't apply to his psyche, and there's enough people in hyperspace who don't know his background or who don't care to keep making him feel good
  21. Mogens Seidelin’s upright bass line from Champion Jack Dupree’s ‘Everyday I Had The Blues’.
