I don't know so much about tapping sounds but I have tapped the pickups with various metal implements and the magnet stops short of the G. You can feel the pull drops off.

I got mine from Strings Direct. Exactly the same (as far as I could see) as the original in my late 80s Stingray.

Absolutely Tiffany style. I won’t bother typing the accolades of which you are almost certainly aware of for VKTRS. Suffice to say that the track screams 80’s from every pore and always goes down a storm. I should add that Total 80’s are 100% live - no backing, which is more than I can say for some 80’s tributes I’ve seen. -
A few years back my band did a a couple of gigs where we played some jazzed up versions of reggae songs and reggae versions of jazzy tracks. I had a couple of superb white female singers from a local folk band, whom i'd depped with on bass, to cover a couple of Wailers tracks that we were including from the twist of marley album by Lee Ritenour. One was no woman no cry and also Exodus. First one they were completely happy singing, but Exodus, they both felt the could't authentically identify with the context and message of the song and deliver it with the passion it deserves because of who they were. So they did all the other tracks and we had a black female singer to do Exodus. I totally accepted their feeling, the gig went down a storm.

to be honest I'd never thought about Rick Astely best selling song of 1987. We are looking to add some new stuff to the duo set but not sure what yet Paul Young (early 80s again)

Thanks! Sad that the feeble current Ali-led UB40 does so few of the political songs. The first two albums (ie pre covers) had a real bite to them you just don’t hear these days. Seeing them with the Pretenders made a big impact on the young would-be bassist me.

So, the SR body has been with the luthier for a few weeks and he has been some doing some final sanding and experimenting with stains to take away the stark white of the ash. He has used a very pale brown wash to darken the wood a little and it really helps to make the grain pop! Really pleased with the results and he will shortly be starting on the sealer coat and layering on the clear coat. Pictures show the wash on the body and one half with spirits to show the clear coat should look. I can't wait to see it when it's all buffed and ready to reassemble!

Great set lists @police squad and @hiram.k.hackenbacker. At least you avoided the most horrific band of the 80's, even if they started in the late 70's : The Cure (that said their two first albums were quite good, their 80's shīt is simply awful, but it's what entitled them to ... money).

Listening now, early UB40 were superb, just as good as anything coming out of Jamaica. To me it's authentic because they authentically meant it; their feeling for that music is sincere. That's why they played it so well. The drummer and bass player are so good. I really don't think Sly and Robbie could have done a better job on those first few albums.

Is there any reason they wouldn't work. Too quick to react perhaps?
