I’ve owned and loved this bass for many years, it’s light, has a thin silky smooth neck and sounds just so right in most styles of music. The way it balances on the strap is amazing and it feels and plays like a 34” scale but it’s a 35 as they all are. it’s serial number dates it to one of the first 100 basses produced and has the bart pickups and original preamp. I replaced the bridge for a genuine USA Lakland one but couldn’t get one without the logo as it would have been originally. Apart from that it’s totally standard and un touched. Condition is virtually as new, there is a small mark on the front near where your thumb goes but it’s hard to show in a picture or see even when you are close up. Other than that, it’s dam near perfect. It has the original lakland hard shell case as well. I’m not even sure I want to sell it so won’t be accepting offers because I believe it’s priced very reasonably already. I would like a Yamaha BBP35 or similar PJ 5 string so px is possible with cash. I am looking for 2 x 112 vanderclay 600w cabs as well. thanks for looking

I would agree with your summary. I don't like telling people their bass is not as good another bass, so always try to tread gently. As you say Sire offer a lot of features for the money, and their finish for the price is pretty good, however the Anaconda probably fits into a bracket above Sire, both in pricing and performance. I am a bit out of touch with the higher end US built instruments these days. Probably a decade ago I tried a Fender USA P5 which did nothing for me and I found a Squier Modified P5 which I much preferred, even though the finishing on the US version was undoubtedly better. This can all get quite subjective. For me Andrew's basses are very carefully refined versions of the Fender design, the graphite reinforcing seems to make a noticeable difference to my ears, the neck profile is just that tiny bit more comfortable, the pickup and electronics add that tiny bit of extra oomph and flexibility. As a retired production engineer I know that the processes in use in some of the Chinese manufacturers now is close to what is used in prestige manufacturers in say the US. So apart from the Kudos of where things are made probably the key differences are now down to material choice, design and attention to detail on finishing and final set up. If you are based in the UK, a trip to see Andrew in his North London workshop is recommended, he is not only knowledgeable, but his show room is well set up. I tried an earlier version of the Essence there before I bought - I have added a write up here in case anyone is interested. Anaconda Basses visit a.pdf

I use one with no hassle; if all of the cable are coming from the back just be sure to place 2 of the 3 legs at the back.

would you find a use for a hx one or something if the reverse delay doesn't work out?

Thanks for that I was rather worried that with the weight of all the cables something like this might be a little vulnerable to tipping over. Thought something with 4 legs might be required ....... But if something this simple does the trick ........ 👍

Thank you for all the input. We’ve decided to get 50 done by Cram. I’ll report back on whether our ‘fan base’ (if we have one 😂) decides to buy any!
