Almost tempted, but what would I do with it...

I have owned the fretted version. Very nice bass it was too. Tempted but will resist. -
Time has come to let go of this great bass rig. Had this for gigs but only got through one before the band had issues again. If I play again will be going to a power amp/modelling pedal and In ear setup as most of the places I can practice are quiet or have cabs available. Head was a purchase through Ashdown as a last chance with the warranty etc it has some dents scratches on it but all works great and is a powerful great sounding beast. I love Ashdown have had many over the years ABMs/CTMs/LBs this one is brilliant has all you expect from an ABM a professional level amp. 600w 9 band Eq Dual UV for input and output Speakon outs Foot switch option (not included) Size 135mm x 474mm x 320mm (£400 Ono collection preferably but could post at cost) Markbass MB58R 104 PURE Bass Cab 4ohm 800watt version This is a light exceptionally portable bass cab With great bass response which is surprising after you have carried it in. Has an adjustable tweeter and is just a great cab. Weight is around 16kg so an easy one person lift. Sounds great is great would keep it but is just taking up spare room space. Crossover Frequency: 3.5 Khz Frequency Response: 40hz to 20khz Sensitivity Db Spl: 103 Db Impedance: 4 Ohms Reflex: Rear 578mm x 600mm x 470mm (£500 on its own but collection only on the cab as wouldn't have a box etc) Any questions feel free to ask. Would consider a Nice Jap Pbass or a PJ of some sort as a trade /part trade

Indeed, that doesn't really make any sense. I assume thought that it isn't meant to be strung like a chapman stick?

Apparently, the Modulus made early necks were a myth (rrp of a modulus neck was almost as much as the rrp of the G Bass), and they are not actually carbon necks as marketed, they have a maple core with a carbon wrap. Still cracking basses for the money of course, but really interesting marketing choice from Peavey; the manual literally says it's a Carbon Graphite neck with no mention of it being mostly wood. Crazy but there you go. Still want it!

I enjoyed the tone of the one I briefly had - but the ever so slight latency of it put me off in the end. It just didn't have the same feel as my Octabvre mini or OC2s I've previously played through...

Hey @ordep, do you know the make of the speaker stand you’ve got pictured there? I use the Novation myself and it looks like a good setup! Good luck with the sale! Bridge string spacing adjustment help please
neepheid replied to Grooverjr's topic in Repairs and Technical
That is a Hipshot A-style bridge. To adjust the string spacing, loosen the grub screw which sits alone on the right hand side of the saddle underneath the two saddle height adjustment screws, then move the saddle side to side by hand as you require, then tighten the single grub screw back down to lock it in place. The screw will likely be in freedom/imperial units. My A-style came with a key which I guard with my life. I could get the callipers out and measure it when I get home, if that helps? -

Many years ago I used to dep in a Free tribute band and they were happy with me using my Lakland 55-94, Thunderfunk amp and Berg 112 cabs. They were after the feel of Free rather than the sound.

A Mobius Megatar 12-string with fan frets: https://auctions.gardinerhoulgate.co.uk/catalogue/lot/e53d7924c06085ff4c734b0b1af356dc/63b778f7668dabe928d3800924a99077/the-guitar-auction-four-day-sale-lot-42/ As it happens, I own (but can't play) a Megatar with the more rational parallel frets. How on earth are you supposed to play one with fan frets? And how would you string it as AFAIK all Megatar/Chapman Stick tunings have the bottom string in the middle of the fretboard? An idea whose time will never come. Unsurprisingly, it got left on the shelf at the auction.

These are amazing. I have one and love it. Admittedly, I've replaced all the patches with Nine Inch Nails-style industrial noise, but that's not the point. Re: your QC comment, do you know if yours is a made in America, or one of the last batch that was made overseas since the InMusic acquisition? I've heard a few people that purchased these brand new in the last 12 months have similar complaints. This was part of the reason that 2nd hand prices rose even before they announced this was being discontinued, because people wanted pay a premium for a unit that was made in the Asheville factory before that stopped being a thing. Once they announced they were being discontinued, the prices jumped again. That said, still worth every penny. If you have a US-made unit with QC issues, I'm really surprised, as they took some real pride in every unit that left the factory, in my experience. I remember when I once had an issue with one of my Moogerfoogers, maybe 12 years ago. I emailed them, and then got a reply from the actual engineer that designed it. He said, "you could send it to the UK repair centre, but if you send it to me, I'll fix it up, and upgrade some parts for you - I can do it on my lunch break next week". I mean, that was service! There is a part of me that is considering selling this to get a 2nd hand US made 37 instead, just because I want more patches to save sounds in. I really love the size and format though. It rocks.

Decided to put up my awesome (and unfortunately no longer made) Spector LT5 in Violet Fade for sale. This has been my main touring bass for the last two years and has seen some action at Glastonbury, Green Man and many more festivals that I can't even remember! Despite being my main bass I have really looked after the bass and it's in excellent condition. No dings or dents just light surface scratches that every guitar gets from being played! The bass has a 3 piece maple neck with alder body wings and a very nice flamed maple top, which is almost holographic and almost impossible to photo! 😂 The bass has a very nice ebony fingerboard, MOP Spector crown inlays, Gotoh lightweight tuners, brass nut, Dunlop straplocks, Custom wound to Spector spec Bartolini pickups and Darkglass preamp, and thr finish is so good it's ridiculously reflective and shiny.. again making it difficult to take good photos! The bass plays very nicely and sounds phenomenal. The bass is 35" scale and the low B is the best I've experienced on a high end bass. Currently strung with Dunlop Super Bright Steels. Sale includes the Spector gig bag. Looking for £1800 due to excellent condition and I think collection is needed. I have the boxes it came in but I don't feel comfortable shipping it without a hardcase.

Slow down, talking in terms of whole turns is making me nervous! What are you trying to do - straighten the neck, or allow more relief? Because that's all the truss rod does - adjust neck relief. It has an effect on it but it is not the primary means of adjusting the string action (ie. height).
