Here are ten reasons why it's the end for boutique basses. Number six will shock you. -

Not sure if brands like Sandberg count as boutique, but if they do I can’t see them fading out. -
Cruiser by Crafter CX100 bass - opinions sought
Uncle Rodney replied to Uncle Rodney's topic in Bass Guitars
Thanks guys for your comments. I've seen one on ebay and another on Fb Market place but currently too many miles away (>100), plus some I know will have horrible little roads. I will keep my eyes open then. Thanks too for the "active only" comment, I did wonder. -

I've owned this from new, it's unmodified, pro set up by Crockett Guitars, TI Jazz flats fitted in excellent condition. The bass is unmarked as far as I can see and in mint condition, ready to gig. Complete with Gator hard case, original case candy and Gibson strap. Reluctant sale as it is a really lovely instrument but it isn't getting played so it can move to a new home. Cash and Collection only, from Faversham.

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
tauzero replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Rehearsal last night with the latest band that I've been recruited to. We're doing a one hour set at a beer festival tonight and we have a fairly sketchy grasp of the songs, so that should be fun. It's a very odd set list, which sadly includes All Right Now but there's a lot of unusual and unknown (at least by me) songs that should ensure that no follow-on bookings ever happen. -

Boutique instruments have been around for hundreds of years, Steinway (from 1853), Stradivarius (from late 1600's) etc. Boutique basses will always be in production. -

I doubt that custom or boutique instruments will ever go away given that they have been in mainstream usage for over 50 years now. And you should be glad that they exist, because the alternative would be people like me hacking vintage instruments apart to get them to do what we want. -

All unused, top quality sets. Double ball ends but possibly can be used for shorter basses. 37” length. (I could use the outer strings on my standard scale bass but would rather sell as sets). * Newtone 5 string sets x 6: Diamond Bass, hex core, stainless steel, 46-130, length 37” (ball end to ball end) with tapered B. £25 each (discount for multi purchase) ( I also have a Hot Wires 5 string flat wound set…pm me)

Should be good as the string spacing is meticulously adjusted making it easy to press the strings! Or as always when you see a page layout like that, you could just then go to aliexpress and find the same thing for £200 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007340673672.html -

Almost tempted, but what would I do with it...
Bassassin replied to alyctes's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
B-Bass lined fretless 6? I had no idea such a creature existed! That has two more strings that I've ever found strictly necessary & 24 fewer frets than I would normally favour - but even I'm borderline tempted! That's (literally) a lot of bass for not all that much money. Those Strat knobs would have to go, though.
