  2. It weighs 3.8kg. Electrics wise, its an LR Baggs designed 18v pre amp and the controls from front to back are Vol Vol Tone and an active on/off switch.
  3. You And Me Song - The Wannadies
  4. Thank you, yes it's a lovely bass
  5. I'd rather buy quality parts from Warmoth etc and if needed be, have a local luthier put it together and set it up. Plenty more options at much less money.
  6. And it wont be too long before you're doom scrolling Bedroom Producer's Blog, Plugin Alliance, Plugin Boutique, Amner Hunter's YouTube page and the various Facebook groups for deals on tasty plugins! Just before Christmas I scored about £1800 of IK Multimedia plugins for thirty quid. reeeeesult!
  7. Yes. I joined Logic in version 9 and didnt open garageband until I'd been using LPX for a long while. (I'd actually been using Reaper until I finally started using Logic, which is also a very good DAW). So, given the learning curve, if you can get Logic and intend to pursue music production, go straight for it.
  8. Two excellent little Rowin micro pedals. Both brand new and boxed only taken out and tested. Rowin build quality to my mind is on a par with Mooer. Compressor is reckoned to be a rebadged Mooer Blue comp which itself was a clone of the Boss CS-1 compressor. Works equally well on both guitar and bass Tuner is a chromatic tuner with large display. Still has plastic protector over screen. £30 the pair + £4 postage and packing
  9. The Core would be the more sensible option, not leasst as I'm always considering how useful pedals can also be with my keyboard (Core for stereo effects etc will be useful for both Keys and Bass). ...but I'm not a particularly sensible person!
  10. For placing the holes in the right place, I drop the tuners in to the headstock. Those with a nut on the front are helpful as you can secure the keys in the final position, but those that don't, like 'fender' keys, I use tape to hold in the exact postion I want the keys to sit - ensuring they are level, straight etc etc. Then I use a fat "nib" pencil that fills the tuning key screw hole nicely to ensure the dot I am marking is centred. Then I follow the same approach as above. Oh and make sure the headstock is flat and parallel to the level surface you are working on, which isn't easy with an angled back headstock, but it will help make sure the drill holes are straight. For drilling pilot holes, I measure the screw thread depth against the drill bit and pop a little tape around the drill bit to tell me when to stop drilling, so I dont go too deep! I haven't drilled through a headstock yet but I've seen it happen.
  11. That's using it in a positive way. I've used Logic’s stem split function, and iZotope’s RX quite a few times to remix and master cassette tape recordings from as far back as the ‘80s people. I'm totally against using it to generate music.
  12. Not sure if they will replace the presenters but a programme called Descript is making in-roads into editing for radio 4. Essentially you record what you need, feed it into the programme where it transcribes it all, you then turn that document into a paper edit of what you want kept, moved etc and it spits out a programme! It can summarise it all, add tags etc, fade in music where you want etc. Not so sure how it would work with a really creative programme and its still early days but its getting better. thankfully I deal with production management stuff so my job is safe for now.
  13. Get a right angle connector and then it just sticks down again?
  14. Just the two of us - Grover Washington & Bill Withers
  15. Some of you may have heard my demos of this... I didn't want to miss out on hearing it for myself but the similarity to my Noble is the reason i'm letting it go, as I'll never be moving that on and some of the other options I've tried offer something a little different. Listing for a little less than price paid, and the opportunity for someone on the (i believe a few months long) preorder list to jump the queue. Brand new condition, gentle studio use only. Including Special Delivery, mainland UK.

  19. There's also a used GT1000 Core with your name on it (kinda literally, if you registered it 😅) to consider? 😊

  22. Best preamp I've ever used. The sound I've had in my head ever since I started playing. Would buy it again if I could!
  23. Moog Minitaur Bass Synth Module This is the up to date v 2.2 edition, comes complete with box, PSU and manuals. Lovely two oscillator synth specifically voiced for bass but can produce lead sounds too. The ladder filter is classic Moog with weight and width to the oscillators. It is a US made synth - Moog has since changed ownership and now mainly manufactured in the far east. The Minitaur is well constructed in a pressed steel case with nice positive action on all buttons and knobs. It is based on the classic Moog Taurus bass pedals of the 70’s as used by Rush, Genesis, Yes and more. All works as it ought to with plenty of control via the front panel, also presets and the ability to hook up to a computer and fine tweak sounds via free Moog software. The module is in excellent condition albeit with some cosmetic ‘rack rash’ on the sides of the unit. UK only, I’d prefer pick up in person but can post at buyer’s expense.

  25. Music Store, and ordered the £12 midi cable at the same time to take advantage of the free delivery when bought with the pedal so £317 all in. Oooh speaking of which, that's another extra for £20 that the FI has over the MXR, I'll update my list!
  26. Indeed, it's just intuitively I'd expect all FRFR cabs to sound the same, but many sound utterly lifeless and the Monza doesn't. The answer is presumably that not all FRFR cabs are created equal, or even truly FRFR.
  27. I think the Levy's one is meant to be used with a female to male extension lead. The bug plugs into the female jack and sits in that pouch then the lead plugs in as per usual. You just need to make sure the lead is the right length.
