  1. Past hour
  2. You've posted on a public part of the forum. Anyone can read without joining. Including the CEOs, lawyers and anyone else goggling Pirate recording studios. Be wary and careful that what you post is accurate...
  3. I bought this to use as a backup whilst my old amp was being serviced. It’s a superb little unit. Bought new recently and rehearsed and gigged a couple of times since. Works as it ought to and is very powerful. I used it through my 8ohm cab and it was loud and punchy. It’s got some cosmetic surface scratches on the top but nothing terrible. Boxed with mains lead and manual (I think). I can post in the UK. PayPal please.
  4. I don’t know if this is relevant Chris, but I had a J-Tone once with CS Jazz pickups and it was great, but when I used it with Fralin dual-coil Jazz pickups the preamp couldn’t handle it and was popping and clicking when I dug in. I spoke to John, but he said he had no idea what the issue was 🤷🏻‍♂️
  5. I do think the full story gives a different perspective. Having used Pirate in the past and only stopped because they closed the local studio it rings true. Bear in mind a remote alarm will include the location so someone anywhere on the planet can review the CCTV and if it shows someone vaping under the alarm before it triggers and there are no other alarms then it's reasonable to assume it's a false alarm.
  6. I can attest that these are great little cabs. If you run one with something a little more pokey than the Elf, then they really come into their own. They really can take some heat and do sound very nice. It's also rather cheap! Rob
  7. Fane Sovereign 8” Speaker 225 watts 8 ohms. Excellent driver fitted briefly whilst my Yamaha speaker was being reconed. Great for bass or PA use. Boxed. Postage possible for an extra £5 - UK only.
  8. Without specs you can't model the result to compare them. However, at 1.8mm xmax the Delta 10B (B stands for 16 ohm) was not a bass driver. It was intended for PA tops that weren't run much below 100 Hz.
  9. Very close to mine which i picked up off here a number of months ago. Beautiful bass, I hope it serves you well 🙂
  10. What’s the weight please?
  11. For sale is the Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 which has the AUX input as well. Great sounding pedal with amazing ability to sculp both the tone on the preamp side and the distortion on the drive side of the pedal. There is some very impressive sounds that can be had out of this pedal. The pedal comes with the original box and all the goodies that came with it. I bought this pedal 3-4 years ago but the sound is a bit too much for the bands I am in. I was always hoping to use it but it has literally sat in the box the whole time. I had thought I might use it also as an emergency DI for gigs but I have never needed it. I would be really interested in trades for Iron Ether Nimbus and/or Polytope because the funds coming from this will go towards those pedals. If I was playing heavier music this pedal would absolutly be staying.
  12. Bass playarrrghs, surely?
  13. Oh hold pending sale.
  14. I just got one of these after a long wait. I sold my WAZA Air headphones because whilst they’re super neat and everything, the actual headphones themselves let the system down. I really wanted the same sort of tech but where I can use my preferred bass playing headphones, the Beyer DT770. Well, the GO is bang on. I plug it into my Backbeat so it’s like it isn’t there, the app is much better than the WAZA one and I was able to make a flat preset which sounds almost identical to my VB99 setup right away (copied the settings across, pretty much). Flat amp, small upper mid bump, limiter and a tiny bit of room reverb. The app is so much more logical and thanks to a tiny box that says ‘don’t show this screen again’ when you connect the device and open the app, it’s actually more seamless then the WAZA which you basically had to pair with the app each time you opened it. I’ll spend more time with it later this week but I’m pretty confident that I will be able to get exactly the same clean sound I get with my home setup, which will be great - and I notice you can record out of it via USB, too. Excellent!
  15. Selling this nice PSU from HB. have some scratches but function is not affected. Will come with cables, leads and other included accessories. https://www.thomann.co.uk/harley_benton_powerplant_iso_3ac_sag_modular.htm?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1581403900&gbraid=0AAAAADuDMCVyEHan9SrIE3yDG3uv2dQP9&gclid=CjwKCAjwy7HEBhBJEiwA5hQNomPhW6ATSboDTgeQMczukWNUne-iY_TcISxx_VhDwjB-YjtmEHFUhhoCeAAQAvD_BwE £40 posted within mainland UK
  16. I thought the first post was a complete over-reaction and someone blowing up over a delay in getting into a studio, and losing their temper on the support line. 1st world problem. I thought Meta referred to a 'Karen' style rant on Facebook.
  17. Hydrasynth Explorer top, modal argon 8x and my old but solid studiologic sl880 keyboard . Picked up an alesis sr18 drumbox yesterday.
  18. I may have missed deleted posts, but from what I’ve read I’m pretty clear where the problem started, pretty clear how it should have been dealt with by the business, and pretty clear that it wasn’t. IMO other factors were caused by these, not causal in themselves
  19. Very different and great sounding, thanks for sharing. I had an 8 string once, love another bite of the cherry. Hmmm...
  20. I don't know - reading the posts from both sides, I don't see anyone being covered in glory here.
  21. Very kind indeed, thank you. PM incoming
  22. I was about to suggest you tell your sound engineer where to stick it, but after reading @Silvia Bluejay 's reply, I have decided against it. As you were.

    Cabinet Plans

A further bit update. I got an email back from Ashdown and they appear to be quite helpful. Rather than email anything they are going to give me a call, hopefully next week. For a company that is not getting anything, revenue wise, from this I'm really impressed. My background is as an electronics engineer before I retired, I stared off in comms and ended up in IT, so I understand that you can't just throw a speaker into any size of box and expect it to perform well. So off to do some research I went. Now I know that "a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing" but I had a go. Assuming that, as many think, these are Eminence Beta 10-B's, or a derivative of them, I checked the enclosure specs for them on the Eminence website, copy attached. Although the enclosure size and that of the BC110T are close, there is a difference in port numbers and size. I hate to ask for help, but can someone comment on these differences. Could I continue to use the port specified in the BC110T or should I go for the ones recommended in the attached. One further point. Initially I am just going to install the driver, and not the horn. My plan is to go step by step and assess performance one change at a time. Thats the engineer in me. Thanks again P.S. This is as much a project as something to use in anger. I have a couple of decent rig's I can use if I had the opportunity to play in a larger venue. Being retired I need something to occupy my time. I'm also building a VOX Phantom Tribute bass, converting a child's six string acoustic into a UBass and recently bought a Dan Armstrong body blank which will be grafted to a short scale neck I have lying around.
  24. OK so I grabbed the Modal on sale or return and it does sound lovely. Fatar keybed is excellent. However some of the peripherals like the usb (type B !) seem a bit shoddy. It's by no means as solid and user friendly as the Hydrasynth. Will report further as I get into it, but the Yamaha MOX FX6 might have been a more sensible punt. Time to resist keyboard G.A.S !! Already got an improvised stereo rig (trace elliot ra300 ha ha) JOdeV
