A LITTLE?! 😄

You'll be more than welcome to join us and the other 'incomers' from out of area. We've managed to attract a few already. Just make sure you don't have a big breakfast on Bash day 🙂

Mate, I'm coming down from Aberdeen - there aren't any regional eligibility rules, the only rule as far as I'm aware is "don't be a d!ck" - actually, they bend that one for me a little

Anyone else doing the Black Sabbath live stream?

Nice work and very creative. However, you will have to try harder to get an endorsement deal from EBS I fear.

Due to the lack of a SE Bash for the last few years I wondered, would it be okay to attend this out of region? Anyone going from London? Not that I can book train tickets for another few weeks yet.

Has anyone played a Hagstrom Super Swede?
HeadlessBassist replied to HeadlessBassist's topic in Bass Guitars
Agreed. Yes, they have one new one in stock. I need to go back there and try it when I get a moment. It’s one of those highly things that you mean to do, but never seem to get round to… -

I picked this up from @Basilpea not that long ago. It's a great cab, but it isn't a cosmetic match to my other AT210, so being the fickle person I am I want to replace this... It's got some small dents from being gigged, but overall in good condition and absurdly light. You can pick it up with two fingers! It's also very loud. W52 x D33,5 x H57 cm 600 watts at 4 ohms 103dB SPL Also comes with GR Bass soft padded cover. GR say: The lightest 2×10 bass cabinet in the world. Thanks to its size, lightness, and power, the AT 210 is one of the most versatile cabinets in the entire catalog. Suitable for both small and large live shows, it allows you to always have your sound with you. With the AeroTech line, you can have the incredible innovation of our Carbon Fibre cabinets combined with the Pure Sound of GR, which is the pure sound of your instrument. Incredible sound, lightweight, power, impact resistance, and a beautiful modern design. I'm afraid this is collection only, as I don't have anything suitable to ship it in. No trades either thanks. I'm using @Basilpea's pictures, which I hope he's okay with.

I think they look great... I think 'HotRox' have them.... -
Marcus's tone has definitely got a little more "scooped" as years have gone by. I remember buying his first solo album when it came out in about 1983/4 and being bitterly disappointed that there wasn't more bass guitar on it. It was mainly synth bass, I seem to remember.

Just in case anyone needs to source a Sire neck
rainbowreality replied to rainbowreality's topic in Repairs and Technical
I've heard that said before but I really don't have a problem with it. Eye of the beholder I suppose 🤩 -
Is it one of these? Harvest Green? Looks a blummin lovely colour that! Nice nice bass. I see they come with a noiseless J pickup. Might want to factor that in if you replace them as you might not enjoy the hum off a single coil. As has been mentioned, maybe try lowering the pickups you do have (if you haven't already). You might find the passive beef and sweetness you're after if you wind them down a bit. The Player pickups seem decent stock from what I've read. Of course having one in your hand is the real story...

Yeah I’d go multi as doing it with single pedals is a lot of pedals. Huge sound and I love Cass Lewis

Yay, you started about three months after me .... good job! And determination and a real love of the instrument can sometimes be better for an individual case than a blanket 'go to a teacher' approach. And double bass has changed my life too. The pandemic left me struggling with agoraphobia and a fear of driving - well you can't rehearse or gig with a double bass on public transport so I had to cork my bottle of demons and get on with driving myself about with my bass.

I just read the sleeve notes. MM plays on The Nightfly, The Goodbye Look and Maxine. The rest of the album is a roll call of the best: Anthony Jackson, Chuck Rainey, Abe Laboriel, Will Lee. I gues that's what you expect from Donald Fagen (except he mainly uses Ready Freddy Washingotn live now

just watched the Sabbath set on youtube, wasn't embarrassing at all, Ossie's voice is still sounds the same, amazingly, you could tell he really wanted to stand up but the old legs wouldn't let him, rest of the band were spot on, a great way to go out. Any lip readers out there? be interested to know what Ossie said when the rest of the band exited the stage and left him there -
