Sure, agreed. And they got folk to land on the moon with less computing power than a current pocket calculator. Hence my comment about the Line 6 software updates and its value in keeping the Stomp in the game, which is also true with the even the more basic Zoom pedals where some of their patches are decades old. However better DSP is going to provide an inherent improvement in chip capability, other things being equal? It's then up to the programmers to make the most of it.

All Fender guitars and basses with an indestructible finish that cannot be relic'd. Its an unacceptable fashion that must be stopped. -

I'd love to see a far east produced 'official' Ricky a small footprint reissue of the Ibanez Weeping Demon wah. BC Rich producing quality passive basses again -

If he looks like Thomas the Tank Engine I don’t know whether that would be a good thing or not…

It's not just the DSP though, it's how it's used. Neunaber wet reverb is still good today, and that's based on FV1 chip - it's just really well programmed.
-
Think maybe I'll mention it to the Glam band but we don't use agencies as we haven't found an honest one in our area we could trust. Dave

Fender Precision Ultra V string. A new run of the Roscoe Beck V (nothing changed mind). -
Ah, i didn’t notice that. That’s actually photoshoped as the guitarist behind is always complaining no ever see’s his face 🤣

EBMM producing a wider necked Stingray 5 complete with 19mm bridge string spacing. Oh and theres not enough maple fretboard on natural bodied basses (black pickguard optional) to my liking. -

Gallien krueger 800rb reissue but mono without the biamp feature, with speakon outputs. -
After a bit of research the Audio Technical ATH-A550z's seem to fit the bill, I'll have to find out if anybody stocks them, and for cheap and nasty the Kos UR20's both bass heavy and big earpads for my big ears

Thanks everyone. I keep looking at the 66J on my wall that I have not played in anger for 30+ years and wondering what shaped monitors it could turn into. And acoustic treatment, obv. Only an idiot would have lush speakers in a bare room!

I hope one day I can return the favour and start you off convincing yourself to keep gear you're unsure of! haha I'm glad you understood as I expected to be banished from basschat for such a poor description! It was the ToneX stuff that made me realise that it's possible to have a bit of life in the digital realm, this just feels like a step up in execution. As you say, the line 6 stuff is heavily dated and I think bass always seems an afterthought for them... no doubt the new stadium is mind blowing! I've noticed every iteration of line6 gear models the exact same source though so it'll reach a point where they can't go any further surely. The boss stuff always intrigued me, but my guitarist has the GT1 multi and I hate everything about it! Their work flow is what has always put me off them in the end... Having a benchmark for comparison would be fantastic - there must be someone on here with the time, skill, knowledge and good will to do such a thing! 🤔.. I only tick one of those boxes, and it's the least important of the four I'm afraid!

People who set the volume at odd numbers that aren't multiples of 5. What's wrong with them? They need locking up. My daughter set the TV volume to 7 so I disowned her immediately.
