  1. Past hour
  2. Nashville gigs are very poorly paid in general. Even tours with well known artists might only pay $200 per show (with all expenses covered obviously). Small fish in a big pond comes to mind!
  3. I like your thinking - lets get some
  4. Yeah the time I left a band through "not feeling it" was more due to the drive to their rehearsal rooms. In summer it was 45 mins through country lanes, a very nice drive in fact, but I knew once it was winter I`d get the hump with it in the rain and the dark with no lighting, so better to walk now. They understood, I stayed on til they got a replacement and played the first gig the band did, which was a great laugh.
  5. When my gear was flightcased, all the cases were blue. Everything else was black and so my gear was instantly identifiable. Even now, all my covers have a blue border.
  6. I haven't had those but I am one for buying synth pedals and not using them, so this would be right up my street
  7. Hi, does anyone know what the two small hex sockets in the pickup tube actually do? Thanks.
  8. What a fantastic looking bass! Good luck with the sale.
  9. Don't worry guys, Mrs. Scrumpy has got the cake requirement covered - and then there's the crumble 🙂
  10. I'm interested in the squier P bass if the price is right. Looks like you have three separate sales if you want them.
  11. Praise indeed, thanks very much, not sure I`d be up to it now mind...................
  12. Second this. They did my 79 Stingray and 75 Jazz (both maple neck and board) a few years ago and did a fantastic job.
  13. That Ibanez is a welcome reminder of a less tasteful age. I remember going into Musical Exchanges in Brum in the late 80s and lusting after the crackle finished BC Riches, I think Washburn & Kramer did something similar as well. Hot neon guitars and basses in almost painfully bright pinks and yellows were definitely a thing at around the same time as well. I don't remember seeing any animal print guitars, but they wouldn't have been out of place. Then, as mentioned above, grunge pretty much killed all the flamboyant finishes and it feels a bit like fashion wise guitars have been doing the same sensible retro/vintage finish thing for the last 30 years or so.
  14. Ah, in my one and only foray into the World Of Five I had a US Precision, did this and it did seems to tighten the B up a bit - did it cos I always use them on the A to stop pesky rattle and that always seems a tad tighter afterwards too.
  15. If you haven't tried different strings, it's really hard to judge the instrument's abilities, and performance. Some strings are a match with the bass, some don't. I like 120, too. It (GHS SS RW, exposed core) was the best sounding B string in a Quantum 5 SPi.

  17. Seem like a great deal. I use solo string downtuned on my teaching bass and bluegrass bass and they’re great.
  18. I had a 2000 US DLX Jazz and it was fine with the string thru bridge, but no better than my current Sire. I thought it was 18mm though.
  19. Great price and a cool serial number 😎 GLWTS
  20. £280 at the bass gallery according to their web page. Not sure I would trust anyone else.
  21. Very interested in in the streamer if you do decide to let them go separately
  22. Speaking of Boss Slicers...I've just spotted there's a poor man's version of the same on my GT1000 Core 😊
  23. I would say my Eich is the best Class D I've played through... and I've used most of the usual high end suspects. If you are in the market for a 300w Class D...I have the t900 and its very very loud..then you really should try this out. P.S I do not know the seller or the company.
  24. In my experience it's a bass issue rather than a string choice one. I exclusively use a 120 B string with no issues whatsoever.
