  3. Bought this recently from Bass Direct whose write up I have shamelessly stolen (`Hope you don’t ming Mark!) it’s a great amp and stupidly loud but not quite the sound in my head right now. I have fitted a full set of brand new JJ valves 3 x ECC83 1x ECC81 The Price includes UK postage or Local delivery. Trades……..Cash either way 5 String Bass Unlined Fretless Genz Benz Streamliner EBS Reidmar 750 Orange Little Bass Thing MarkBass Rocker Try Me ??? Heres all the in-depth stuff The TTE 801 is the amp of choice for those who want a warm vintage tone with stadium-rocking power. As with the 500W version, the TTE 8001’s vintage vibe was carefully engineered with features such as an classic-style tube preamp, a tube compressor, a simple 3-band passive EQ section, a “Colour” filter (a tubeadaptation of the famous Markbass VLE control), but gets amplified by a potent 800W power amp that features our innovative Tube Technology Emulator, giving even more tubey warmth. Current technology is brought together with classic tone concepts in a head that looks and sounds vintage—but features some special adaptations of the Markbass innovations that put the brand on the map! The TUBE HEART of the TTE 801 makes this head an incomparable vintage sounding amp!!! But there's no better way to understand “Modern Vintage” than to plug in the amps and let the tone explains itself! This amp is presented in fantastic condition with a gig bag included. 4. Both sound great. We're coming down to stay with friends in Deptford in a few weeks. We used to live in Greenwich and kids went to school in Deptford before we moved ooop t'North. More than happy to bring them both down for you. Clearly don't want to encourage bad behaviour from you
  5. Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue - Ramones
  6. Thank you for leaving the European Union. Otherwise I would have to get this beauty (and equip it with black Hardware which it totally deserves) 😅😉
  7. Let's Stick Together Bryan Ferry
  8. At the risk of just recommending what I have, the EBS Classic Session 60 is a great little amp. Looks like there's one for sale here (no conflict of interest to declare!), and one at Bass Direct.
  9. I like 'Fullerton Red' best - Bit more orangey.
  10. That is so nice and from the best years i believe. Bet the neck on it is sublime. I have a Thumb NT4 from 89 and its a glorious bass to play. GLWTS Dave
  11. Okay, so I've had the Aguilar AG 4M humbucker put back in, but not the single coil, and just as Dave Boonshoft at Aguilar says, it sounds just like a late 70's model now. Now that's a sound I really like!
  12. Shocked this thing is still here, I bet it sounds wonderful
  13. It's difficult, but it's a skill and can be learned. Like you strumming an acoustic and singing is fine but... I'm getting better at it and the bands I'm know my position - give me a microphone and I will do what I'm comfortable with. I started about 40 years ago doing the 'yeah's in Moni Moni. Ironically I'll be doing them again tonight! Some songs are easier than others and it's not always obvious what will work. The very regular pulse of Heroes but I struggle with the 'by the wall' etc. Yet the other day I was singing the chorus to Jean Genie while improvising fills... I think the problem is they often use similar parts of the brain, especially if, like me, you 'hear' the melody in your head to play it more than remembering a fingeting.
  14. Beautiful bass, fully agree that it requires a lot of restraint. Same boat here on the NHS, mutually agreed resignation schemes in full swing…logically before woeful next steps! Well done government, not! Anyhow, I think this bass has put me in the mood for some Zender tunes 😎
  15. I've found this approach really helps for my basic attempts at singing. Once I have largely got both parts down in isolation I start identifying which note in the bassline is the cue to start singing a particular word or line.
  16. £70 includes U.K. postage. MXR analogue chorus, all working, mains and battery. Excellent condition. Selling as I prefer my MXR digital version.

  18. Bought new from GAK a couple of years ago, un gigged and little use, strung with d'addario chrome flats and fitted with East J retro circuit . Tried out in the Brighton shop against some higher end jazz basses and it was a lot better than some twice the price or more. Fender details Tap into that classic Jazz Bass sound Equipped with two single coil Fender Jazz bass pickups, this guitar offers all of the clarity and punch that you would want out of a bass and more. Melt into the mix with grumbling lows, crisp mids and open highs that produce a truly unique tone that has been reimagined through decades of Fender innovation – and accessed by dozens of legendary bass guitarists. The innovative wiring and magnets within these pickups provide for an expressive voice that is extremely well-defined and responds to the dynamics of your playing, no matter what your style is. Industry standard craftmanship This Squier Jazz Bass’ body is crafted from poplar, delivering a high frequency response as well as an overall light tonal contribution with sparkling highs. Poplar is a soft tonewood, therefore it offers a mellowed sound with warm lows to juxtapose the pick ups and create a perfect harmonic balance. The guitar itself is also lightweight thanks to the selection of poplar wood, providing a comfortable experience that can carry you all the way through the night With a maple constructed neck, you’ll be guaranteed a bright sound with plenty of twang, as well as excellent levels of resonance and sustain. Paired with a laurel fingerboard which will offer a smooth playability and high-quality physical feel beneath your fingertips in addition to a glorious amount of tonal warmth and depth. What’s more, the locking bridge works with the tuning pegs to help you stay in tune for longer, no matter how intense things get A definitive bass look So often described as the first choice for many bassists across the globe, this retro inspired aesthetic will have you standing out in any crowd. The space-age metallic blue body and matching headstock blends seamlessly with the exposed wood of the neck, as well as the cream pickguard, to achieve a timeless visual appearance. 19. The wiring of the switch in the diagram makes no sense whatsoever, I imagine it's in error.
  20. There are a lot of shades of Fiesta Red. It became very popular in the UK because of The Shadows. Hank Marvin had a Fiesta Red Strat and Jet Harris had a sunburst P Bass - the first in the UK. Later all The Shadows sported Fiesta Red guitars, and they were so popular that the UK distributer started respraying UK basses Fiesta Red, usually over Sunburst as Fiesta Red was a custom colour and thus more expensive. This accounts for the variation in shade for UK 60's basses. My 62 is a factory finish not resprayed.
  21. The Cali76 has been the holy grail 🤩

  22. If you need a new end piece, I have one.
  23. The 'cheap as chips' option is an Orange Crush 20, 8" speaker and decent sound. What I use for home now is a Joyo Badass 50W with a PJB C4 cab. Sub in an Elf for the Joyo and it's ok for rehearsal with a drumkit and just loud enough to gig (with pa support). My guess is the GRBASS Cube would be awesome.
  24. Bargain!
