    I liked the performance, especially the Fazioli hitter. Cello sound was very good, too. Nice combination of old and new. (Could someone buy the bassist a new set of strings, maybe?)

    Mixed subs might not make a lot of difference to the sound, as it will end up being a blend of the sources. But due to the often wide differences in response between different subs it's a lot more difficult to get the best result when they're not matched. Looking at the SPL chart for the SWA1501, which is about as flat as the Matterhorn, I can see it being a challenge to get it to play nice with another sub. https://www.fullcompass.com/common/files/2965-SWA1501SpecSheet.pdf

    I've owned two Alien 6 strings, neither had a problem with removing the bridge pins. I would say in order to qualify as a 'known problem', it would need to be an issue that applies to a fair number of these. I've not heard of this problem either, so would be curious if it is indeed a known concern, or just a single anecdotal story of one person's experience that you've read.
