  2. I tend not to buy advance tickets for anything, as you never know what might come up to get in the way of things. When I saw this one, I thought it didn't quite add up.
  3. Hi, I’m looking to sell my Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass V in black with maple neck and abalone block inlays. The controls are volume, blend, active 3 band eq, passive tone control and an active/passive switch. It takes two 9V batteries. These basses are my favourites, but I bought this as a back up for my tour rig. I currently have three of them and this one just isn’t being used really. The bass weighs approximately 4.4kg I bought this bass from Basschat in January 2024. It’s been played and toured by its previous owner and has always been fantastic and reliable whilst I’ve had it. I’ve taken it on two tours last year as a back up and have played it on a handful of shows. It’s been looked after by myself and the previous owner. There’s a couple of dings and chips on the body which I’ve attempted to photograph. I can provide more photos. It comes with the original black pickguard (I’ve placed this over the top in some of the photos) and a dark tortoise shell one which I bought to replace it because I like how they look. It also comes with the original Fender strap locks. The original Fender case has a big crack in one of the corners so I’ve replaced it with this Stagg Hardcase. If you wanted the original you can have that instead though. I’m based in Birmingham but can provide postage and packaging at the buyers expense. Thanks for looking! Michael.
  4. If you do that with a standard short scale neck, you will have to move the bridge forward around 4 inches, which will make quite a mess. I guess you could hack off some of the tail end and reshape it but it would be a lot of work and require refinishing afterwards. The pickups will be in the wrong place: a lot closer to the bridge, which will probably affect the tone as well. If you were performing major surgery on the tail end, you could reroute the pickup cavities as well, to get them closer to the sweet spot but you are going to end up with a bass full of filler. if you can’t land an original Gibson short scale (or can’t afford it) and it’s the tone you are after, the new Shergold Tele shaped shortie has twin humbuckers. I have only heard the samples on the website, so I can’t tell whether it would get you the same tone as a TBird but it will be a hell of a lot cheaper. Might be worth a look.
  5. Update, just spotted there’s a 5 string version (at least a prototype) out in the wilds.
  6. As new, perfect condition. Came with my AVRI2 ‘61 reissue Strat. Case has never been used, and the guitar is a keeper, so it’s up for grabs.

  8. I suspect the “4” bit means it’s a four string pickup, no idea if a 5 or 6 is in the offing. edit: @crazycloud sorry, didn’t see your comment, thank you.
  9. I might be wrong but isn't this a good bit cheaper than what these are supposed to go for? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ibanez-TMB100M-Talman-Mustard-Yellow/dp/B079HPM11W/ref=asc_df_B079HPM11W?mcid=ea6b851d0f033b46a898b0379d0c2936&th=1&psc=1&hvocijid=10287653012475729687-B079HPM11W-&hvexpln=74&tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=696285193871&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10287653012475729687&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006524&hvtargid=pla-2281435177098&psc=1&gad_source=1
  10. I have the exact same bass & finish, I'd highly recommend anyone getting one, so easy to play and lovely tone with the PJ pickups. That's a good price.
  11. That does look gorgeous, really like the finish on it. Aaaand I'll be down in Gunnislake visiting Chris over the summer...... I think I've got a Pulse on my brain now though, unless having a go on your Warwick changes my mind!
  12. 1. Washburn Status with unlined fretless neck - I know they exist but I have never seen one for sale or in the flesh. 2. ESP 400 Series 62RI Jazz Bass - This is the mid to late 80's model made in the Fender Japan factory and has the Fender shape headstock. I have one and it's the best Jazz bass I've played. Only ever seen one for sale in the past. 3. Fender Japan 51 Reissue in Yellow - These were first released around the mid 90's and they came in Sunburst and Yellow only. I have only ever seen two in the yellow, one I owned which I stupidly sold and the other someone owned on here. Fender later did a re-release and replaced the yellow with Butterscotch Blonde.
  13. I’ve been on the lookout for one of these for a while. PM’ed

  18. Just been back on Fender site and the Performer series is back listed again. So must have been just a website error...
  19. That you got £50 for it?
  20. A horn part to have a crack at. I actually did this transcription in the late 1980s on paper and found it this morning when looking for something else. It was all wrong but, hell, I was new to transcribing back then and there was no slowing things down on computers in those days. I have corrected my original errors this morning and put in into Sibelius and here it is. A great exercise and a way of really getting a sense of what Marsalis is doing to the melody. There is one tough passage that you will struggle with but, if you are inclined, it is worth spending some time of these kinds of things as it gives you a lot of insight into what is going on with these kinds of soloists. The head and trumpet solo on Gershwin's 'A Foggy Day (in London Town)' from the 1987 Wynton Marsalis album, 'Standard Time Vol. 1'. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/a-foggy-day-wynton-marsalis-trumpet-solo/
  21. I’ll be there as well! I saw Bruce at the Isle of Wight festival in 2012 and he was brilliant. I always had it in my mind to see him at one of his own shows. only downside is the complete lack of parking available. I got the tickets from Twickets and didn’t think to check if there was football on at the same time. I’ve found a place, but it’s a decent walk away
  22. These are great cabs, crisp sounds with the tweeter and powers through the mix 🤘 glwts 👍
