  2. That’s a shame, especially as most blues fans now qualify for free bus rides (me included 😆).
  3. Was his name Clarence or Leo by any chance?

  5. Nice - that one's a keeper! 😎
  6. Bought a MIDI controller off Berserker (seems wrong to call someone with the pseudonym "Berserker" Nigel for some reason), fantastic price, great comms throughout and it arrived promptly in fantastic packaging. Cheers!
  7. Hi, I’m looking for my first 5 stringer and this could be a good option - I have never tried one of this though - based in London W11
  8. Home build, home sprayed, home assembled and setup. TV has nothing decent to watch, so this is how I keep myself amused.

  11. this needs a tidy up but sort of getting there the Vitoos PSU was a great buy , the Walrus Tuner is good and the Free The Tone pedals really are the business
  12. Did a 2-hour set last night with Ministry of Mojo as part of the Dereham Blues Festival. Really nice venue but very small and dwindling audience, which we just about outnumbered by the end. Unfortunately the venue is out of the town centre and blues fans clearly didn't fancy making the trip out to the suburbs. The office:
  13. Got the Sandy back yesterday with the AG 4M/J-HC set fitted. Based on a quick noodle at home, definitely worth all the cost and hassle. Will post the full story after tonight's gig.
  14. They are great basses, I had a combustion for years and deciced to upgrade to this - it's a bit of a sleeper. Canadian ABZ but with a plain finish so it doesn't look like a custom from a distance. The rehearsal was good fun. The drummer is good but very inexperienced so trying out ALL of his chops in the numbers and practising fills and rolls whenever we stop. And is VERY LOUD. But that's all fine. I have earplugs and the enthusiasm is great. What I'm having to put my foot down on though is the speeding up. Once last night the tune was racing away so I tried to pull back, and pull back until I was completely out of time and neither of them noticed. They didn't even notice when I stopped playing and stood there waiting for them to finish the tune... which they did very quicklyt the speed they were going! I asked the, politely, to listen a bit more intently and to be fair they did after that. The beers and the chat in the pub afterwards was also the hightlight of the week.
  15. Thanks dude, much appreciated. I swear there's only a handful of Basschatters down south, I need to move up north!

  17. This is as hard-hitting as Lucinda’s songs, and to be frank it’s a wee bit too honest. But that makes it compelling reading, so if you like her music it’s a solid investment. If you don’t know who she is, consult YouTube immediately… Hardback, very good condition. RRP £20, yours for £13 posted. Now just £11.
  18. For anyone who hasn’t heard this, it’s superb, good luck mickey
  19. Very well put together US-published book of in-depth interviews with guitarists based on a TV documentary. Refreshingly, not all are the usual suspects. Rarely seen here. 300 pages, very good condition. £13 posted UK. Now just £10
  20. Latest album from leading Americana singer-songwriter. New, sealed, £9 posted.
  21. That’s kinda what I was interested in finding out, Len. Ta for asking! As far as I can tell, there’s really not a great deal of difference. Maybe it’s not as compressed as the Elf, but certainly loud enough for the room. The Fleas pickups drive it quite hard. What I like about the Warwick is the clearly visible controls - many’s the time the Elf’s volume has somehow turned itself down or off! Curiously, on the evidence of live recordings, the sound I like best for blues at the moment is my Sandberg VM4 with the GK MB200 through my Barefaced Two10. None of which I was using here🤔
  22. That's works with me, I'll send you a PM with the details.
  23. The one in The Gallery is a nice thing. I tried it the other day. Thin neck, nice tone, looks the part. My reservation is that I think it might be a bit pricey for what it is. But I guess the gallery has overheads that we don't. Your shortscale will undoubtedly be nicer to play, and what with these both being quite 'thumpy' semi acoustic basses, I doubt the scale length will make any real diff to the tone. GLWTS!

  25. Yamaha Motion MB – III medium scale bass Had this little bass on offer a few months ago but ended up keeping it as I needed a bass for a gig that involved flying (it fits in a guitar gigbag). Really great bass for the money with a big sound and easy on the shoulders. · Body: Basswood · Neck: Maple · Fingerboard: Rosewood · Pick up: Humbucker (Passive) · Neck joint: Bolt-On · Nut width: 39mm · Number of frets: 24F · Weight: ≈ 3.5kg · Control part: 2 Volume / 1 Tone · Scale: 32" / 813mm (Medium Scale) Its from 1988 so it does have some marks here and there but nothing too bad. Everything works great and the frets are really well dressed. Can take a very low action. Its strung up with medium scale Thomastik Jazz Flatwounds that are a great match, it kicks butt! Can ship anywhere in Europe. Price is 400 Euros. If you have any question, just PM me. Thanks!
