  1. Past hour
  2. I missed a gig tonight as I was having a meal with a cousin I've only seen twice in a quarter century. They ended up cancelling as our rhythm guitarist found one of his horses dead this evening (😨) and was understandably not up to the gig and it wouldn't have been fair on the deps.
  3. For sale is my TC Electronic GMajor-2 multi effects unit in fully working condition and updated to the latest firmware. Pictures show it in its usual rack home (rack not included). Although most of the standard effects are aimed at the guitarist I have found the compressor, gate, flanger, phaser and octaver (up and down) etc. to be very useable for bass. I can either factory reset before shipping or leave the presets I have created intalled. It has built in EQ, noise gate, compressor, reverbs, delays, wahs, octaver, tremolo, phaser, flanger etc each of which can be switched in / out from the front panel as required. I have been using this via my amps effects loop and found the compressor (and all the effects) just add their effect without changing the fundamental sound of the bass. Comes with original box and operating manual. You can use the unit in your DAW as well as with your bass / guitar etc. Patches can be easily selected from the front panel or attach a midi-pedal (I used a MidiMoose). There is also some Vyzor software you can download from the net which allows you to interface your PC with the GMajor-2 to edit and backup your user patches. I have also attached the GMajor-2 and Vyzor manuals below. tc_electronic_g-major_2_manual_english.pdfVyzor_G-Major2_Quick-Start.pdf I estimate UK shipping about £10 to £15.

  4. All Stood Still - Ultravox
  5. I keep buying these as I love them, but keep needing to sell for other things. Once I sell my Bergantino head, im going back to EBS amps which have it built in (albeit much simpler) Probably the best value for money compressor you can get. This is the third "Studio Edition" of the legendary EBS comp, which features the classic three modes Tube SIM - adds a lovely warmth and Thickness to the mids. Great for Growly rock tones. Multi band - compress the highs and lows seperately, tames the high end snaps and leave the low end a bit less compressed for depth and clarity. Great for equalizing between a finger and slap tone. Normal - the classic EBS sound found on their amp heads. Nice Transparent tone, that gently evens the tone, without adding Colour This comp is a great choice for people that want variety and great tone, but very easy to use. This is in fantastic condition, with Velcro on bottom. £85 incl UK only delivery

  6. The top of range Deluxe models look nice enough, but I'd be dubious of the cheaper stuff. The basic Jazz is $152. Doesn't sound like a quality instrument to me.
  7. Have a free bump for a fantastic rare Fender jazz.
  8. Time Stand Still - Rush
  9. I think you’ve probably already answered your own question Daryl - don’t worry about stuff you can’t do anything about. From some of your previous gig reports, you do sometimes seem hard on yourself and the band if things aren’t as perfect as you think, so maybe try to let the small stuff go and just enjoy it? You’re obviously an experienced player who understands your band’s way of gigging, and if the rest of them don’t think there are any serious issues then just go with it. Of course you can always keep an eye on anything else that may be presenting itself in the meantime……😉
  10. Curious! The B strings on my 55-02 and 55-01 were both excellent. Maybe you were just unlucky with the example you tried? The 55-02 also had very good setup out the box, and I favour low action. I'm guessing the plek treatment contributed to that. I'm more a Stingray player, btw (still own 2), just for balance. I moved the 55-02 on because mine was really heavy and I wasn't crazy about that body shape ergonomics.

  12. Seemed safe from losing my job but that’s firmly in sight again so reduced to £1900.
  13. Ah .. a sight for sore eyes 😜
  14. True and although it's advertised as having to be in the same chain I don't actually think that's the case.
  15. I stumbled across this Korean guitar firm quite by accident but very impressed by the sound and finish. There is even a 5 string jazz style bass being advertised on ebay at present. Does anyone have any first hand experience of this Company ? They appear to make 4 string jazz basses too as well as a couple of 6 string lead guitars. Looks like they're getting noticed in the States but can't find any UK dealership by looking on Google Many thanks
  16. I had a great time last year. Having most of the basses upstairs was good, and actually it wasn't too noisy as everyone respected the quiet times I probably won't make it this year, which is a shame.
  17. I've been playing bass for over 30 years and what you say is where I still am. Then again, I'm quite happy being at that point and I just play for my own enjoyment not needing to play with others, so unfortunately I can't assist with your query, but just letting you know you're not alone in the boat in which you find yourself. Mark
  18. Just to confirm I will be lurking down stairs with the guitar people. 😀
  19. It would have to be for that price. All i can say to someone who can afford that, is enjoy yourself……
  20. Just Just got this one and it turned out to be the "secret sauce" I was longing for. That thing is way cooler with bass than I anticipated. It's a chorus pedal that can also add the creepy vintage "warped vinyl"/"worn magnetic tape" retro vibe of a haunted house. It does wonders sandwiched between two fuzzes. Obviously can be also used as a regular chorus, and a vibrato, and even a slapback delay.
  21. This is what a bureau looks like with the shelves/desk bit ripped out. The base of the "screen" is visible, but the top 7cm dissapear. I tried the next drawer down but there were a lot of looking downwards ergonomic issues then. Ah well, it was worth £10 on FB marketplace to test the concept.
