  2. Hi. Is the combo still for sale?
  3. I wouldn't quite go that far about the advertising TBH. It's a bit annoying and it appears on my laptop but not on the mobile. If it was a case of you sorting out medical issues vs advertising, it's 100% clear what you should do. And no it's not the advertising just to be clear 🙄
  4. First gig I was ever meant to go to was Mud, think was Nov/Dec 1975. As was usual for that time of year I got a rotten cold so couldn’t go. Bah!
  5. I have a number of good and bad buys. I have to say (at the risk of being expelled, excommunicated and otherwise labelled as a heretic) that the purchase of an 87 MIJ Strat from here, was one of my best buys of the year for me. Its a dammed fine guitar that just begs to be played. It's no showroom queen and it's all the better for it. It's great for songwriting so I actually play the bass more as well. A songwriting course in Kendal. I learnt so much from Ann Marie I want to do it again. Worst purchases Some crappy Fender guitar cables. Buy a decent cable from @Chienmortbb and just have done with it. The MS1-Vave Bluetooth adapter. Junk. Any purchase that I thought would short circuit me having to learn how to play bass guitar properly. I'm still learning and I expect to keep learning until the day I stop and there's nothing wrong with that. Am looking for a decent acoustic for next year and a decent precision to see what all the fuss is about. I also wouldn't mind a es355 if one fell in my lap. Rob
  6. I put the East pre in as the fender one was so average. The East is such a great addition.
  7. £50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Chrome hardware and a vintage sunburst finish. Mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and a basswood body. A retro instrument with a modern twist." Maple Top Mahogany Body Mahogany Neck Lignum Rosa Fingerboard Entwistle MBH Bridge Pickup Entwistle MBN Neck Pickup Jumbo Frets 42mm Nut Width 30" Scale Length Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  8. I'm actually so old that I remember my friends older sister coming home and furiously whacking him with her wooden sandal as punishment for playing her Mud records without permission while she was out at youth club. That young girls in those days gravitated towards a group of blokes who looked, dressed and sounded like Mud says a lot about what a macabre time the mid-1970's was in Britain.
  9. Supporting members shouldn’t see any ads, something isn’t set up properly I think.
  10. Can you give more info as to what your current setup is? I've got some ideas, but all dependent on what you're using.
  11. well, that is pretty unpleasant. i nneed to do some updates to advertising, which I have not been on due to the house medical issues, but I will look into it
  12. Not the NW? I feel offended.. 😩 Would have to agree with @neepheid here. We don't have that many Bass Bashes and to have two on the same day seems very unfortunate. Rob
  13. Nice bass, mate, but not really fair to compare it to a 'ray - it's passive for a start. Most ATKs are active with a 3 band EQ. Different pickup too - according to the Ibanez wiki (not saying it's gospel, like) the ATK100 has a regular dual coil humbucker, most other ones made around this time had a triple coil (a dual coil with a phantom coil), or later a quad coil (double humbucker).
  14. Find a local door stripping company. They might dip it in with a batch of doors. They'd also give you a professional opinion on whether it would be easier and quicker to throw it in the skip and buy a donor bass off ebay. Edit: my local guys charge £35 a door.
  15. I would have to agree. I bought this exact model from Bass Bros in pristine condition for just shy of £1200. Great bass however
  16. Deck the halls with something or other... I've done a cover of 1-2-5 by the Canadian garage rock band The Haunted, which was a number 23 smash in the Canadian charts back in 1966. I'm not sure what the lyrics are getting at but maybe they are about an encounter with an inexpensive prostitute, and how Christmassy is that? Westfield guitar, violin bass, MT Drums. Wavepad and Audacity washed their socks by night.
  17. Up for sale is this Active Westone Thunder 1A Fresless Bass Guitar. Rare vintage instrument! Made in Japan Comes with a hardcase Collection only! No trades unfortunately...
  18. ***Price reduced*** A rare premium Ibanez sound gear 6 string bass guitar. Made in Indonesia. If you are looking at this, you know how good they are! this one comes with the original hardcase, a strap and the manual. I tried to take enough photos to show some bumps but the neck is perfect and playability is superb. Strung with flatwounds so no need to ever change them! Reason for selling is only because 4 strings is more than enough for me and I am doing a clear out! Collection only! No trades unfortunately...
  19. Stunning bass, and excellent playing. 👏
  20. There's a puddle of slobber forming next to me... 😋😋
  21. Hi Ovi, thanks! Nice to hear from you! Are you back in bass business? This bass could be yours 😜
  22. The Back in the Studio version of this is now out, and it shows just how well put together and executed the bassline is:
  23. I've got the music done. It's too high for me to sing so I got my singer to do it. He said he wasn't happy with his first go and would do it again tonight, but unfortunately has found himself in the pub instead, so if I do get another version, it will be in the 'pub style'! Oh dear!
  24. It seems that the answer here is Fender. Just in case you would consider something similar, but from another brand: - blade, Bacchus, Tokai, and ESP are decent Japanese alternatives - Limelight, one of the best feel J necks I've tried, nearly bought my first J - Modulus Graphite BassStar J was an excellent fretless - Pensa-Suhr, no wonder Victor Bailey played one - Sadowsky is a heavy contender in good sounding lightweight basses - you could source Warmoth or similar parts to a self-made J (with a @Kiwi neck?) - the extra special that is bubbling under: a local luthier that is able to tweak every tiny detail to your specs
