Of all the things I don’t need but I really want 🤣 My favourite combo! I think these were about £1600 when new? Weigh about 72lb? I could have sworn mine went to 700w at 2Ohm? Lots of question marks, it’s been a while! Fabulous piece of kit. At £200 you could probably never need another bass rig. GLWTS.

I'm sorry for the epic necro however I wonder how things stand up with the later range of devices? I'm currently trying to weigh up a Clarett+ 2Pre vs Scarlett 4i4 4th Gen. I currently have a 1st gen Scarlett 2i2, but looking to do more re-amping etc so need 2 inputs and 4 outputs. Does the Clarett+ still have an edge on the newer Scarlett range of devices in terms of audio quality? I do appreciate how the features of the Scarlett are accessible via hardware controls vs software, I do on occasion use the interface directly into my phone for some quick videos and demos etc which means I wouldn't have access to those options.

Resurrecting this chat as I recall finding it helpful earlier in the year, and I now need to get sorted with a card payment provider for gigs. It sounds as though SumUp is a popular choice, I see some mentions of Zettle too. Are people generally using dedicated card readers, or are the 'tap to pay' on a phone options just as good? Are there any other providers worth considering?

Ditto, I was wondering whether it should be in "Notable deaths".

No, a much better idea is to buy a 5-string, then sell it on in three months with "I've found I don't get on with 5-strings" in the advert. Incidentally, I moved to 5-string after 30 years on 4s.

I didn't realise it was showing adverts, I run an ad blocker. I find the search function really poor on JMB. It's sort of better on Bandmix, except that 75% of the people on there don't understand how to set the filters for what they're looking for, so they look for accordionists, bagpipers, and triangle players as well as bassists, when they're actually looking for a drummer.

1962 Fender Precision basket case?
SurroundedByManatees replied to danbanbass's topic in Bass Guitars
You can't list this titled as a '62 and take yourself seriously at the same time imo. We are talking about a half original neck, a pickup and a bit of hardware that is (when giving the benefit of the doubt) probably original. Just my opinion of course. -

madashell started following Hardware clearout - roll up roll up…..
-
...although would be more correct to call it a bitsa, there's not a single piece of wood that's all original (body after-market, replacement board etc) so not really fair to describe it as a '62 in any way
-
That bass has been doing the rounds a while, think it was owned until recently by a guy on here, original price was way higher, suspect BD have done full audit hence lower price
-
Yep all of that is entirely correct. We all use in ears, no backline and the venue only allows electric drums. The biggest problem is that the whole system sounds absolutely awful. Virtually no bass at all. Just all really harsh and mid heavy at a low volume. All of it compressed to within an inch of its life. @EBS_freak knows these systems well and I his opinion of them is much the same as ours if i recall. It's gigs like that where the money we spend on iems and nice stereo monitor mixes really comes into its own.

Great one 😂
