I bought this little amp many years ago and it's been lovely but I've mainly used it to lend to other people rather than use myself. It's got a very British tone and works great, but it's just taking up space. The speaker is hard-wired in but if you disconnected it and plugged in a bass cab you'd have a very nice 15w valve amp - I've tried it by connecting a bass cab as well and it's really warm and has a top vintage vibe, but I never gone as far as disconnecting the hard-wired speaker so not really pushed it. Anyway. It's yours for £75. I'd really rather collection from mine in London - you can try it out if you want. I could package it up to send, it's not too heavy and I've got loads of bubble wrap but I am a bit apprehensive about sending a valve amp by van so we'd need to discuss this. Any questions give me a shout.

A while ago, I had a Harley Benton shorty P bass. Put some Wilkinson alnico pickups in and a wiring loom off ebay. What an amazing bass, and all for £100. I stupidly sold it. Following an operation on my left elbow, I'm now off games for a couple of months and I'm bored. I'm looking for a good, sub £150 short scale P bass to tinker with. Is the HB Shorty still the best in that price range? Anything else?

It might be a pickup from an American Standard Jazz Bass produced between 2000 and 2012. There is a thread on TalkBass, some posts of which are referring to 33753. I'm not sure I'm allowed to link it directly to a post here, but you might like to make use of the search function on that forum.

It is indeed! Congrats on getting an SY 200! I know you're particularly interested in the arp feature - 18 different presets provided on the pedal and you can tweak both pitch and tempo. I've managed to dig out a YT clip of it in action: Boss SY-200 arpeggiator & pitch shift via expression pedal

That made me laugh... Thankfully my coffee cup was on the desk so I didn;t spit it out over my nice keyboard. I do actually really like my ultra short scale Ibanez. It looks like it was used on a building site as a shovel, and may well have been, but it plays well, it sounds great and is a little unusual. Rob

Having a dig around on Youtube, it looks like it was the Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, which is a yearly occurrence. I have found another listing of that clip that says it is 2011, so your guess is as good as mine as to when it actually was.... It does look like I was right and it was a show band backing the star vocalists.

Well I guess good luck to you all. The blue print is taking shape across the Atlantic. MAGA vs Antifa with troops on the streets. What could possibly go wrong? I hope you all have a road map with a potential exit strategy if it’s required. Edit: Be respectful. If you are clear that you are doing something with respect, not parody, almost everyone sensible will accept it. For now anyway. Totally agree with this one. I would also add prioritise what you have in common with your supposed adversaries and don’t trust anyone who offers no solutions other than to blame others.

Apparently, the Modulus made early necks were a myth (rrp of a modulus neck was almost as much as the rrp of the G Bass), and they are not actually carbon necks as marketed, they have a maple core with a carbon wrap. Still cracking basses for the money of course, but really interesting marketing choice from Peavey; the manual literally says it's a Carbon Graphite neck with no mention of it being mostly wood. Crazy but there you go. Still want it!

Time has come to let go of this great bass rig. Had this for gigs but only got through one before the band had issues again. If I play again will be going to a power amp/modelling pedal and In ear setup as most of the places I can practice are quiet or have cabs available. Head was a purchase through Ashdown as a last chance with the warranty etc it has some dents scratches on it but all works great and is a powerful great sounding beast. I love Ashdown have had many over the years ABMs/CTMs/LBs this one is brilliant has all you expect from an ABM a professional level amp. 600w 9 band Eq Dual UV for input and output Speakon outs Foot switch option (not included) Size 135mm x 474mm x 320mm (£400 Ono collection preferably but could post at cost) Markbass MB58R 104 PURE Bass Cab 4ohm 800watt version This is a light exceptionally portable bass cab With great bass response which is surprising after you have carried it in. Has an adjustable tweeter and is just a great cab. Weight is around 16kg so an easy one person lift. Sounds great is great would keep it but is just taking up spare room space. Crossover Frequency: 3.5 Khz Frequency Response: 40hz to 20khz Sensitivity Db Spl: 103 Db Impedance: 4 Ohms Reflex: Rear 578mm x 600mm x 470mm (£500 on its own but collection only on the cab as wouldn't have a box etc) Any questions feel free to ask. Would consider a Nice Jap Pbass or a PJ of some sort as a trade /part trade

Cultural appropriation and covers
Agent 00Soul replied to DF Shortscale's topic in General Discussion
I don't think that's the narrative anymore in the western world, whether it's accurate or not. -
My take on all this is the world is divided into 3 groups. Those who rely on income, those living at a subsistence level and those who have wealth and live via extracted rents. This is inter continental and occurs across all races, religions and cultures. The more time people spend getting polarised and dividing themselves into sub-groups with infighting and division the faster the rent extraction group grows and the more people are pushed into the subsistence class. We are entering a new era and it’s time to bury the old narratives and work together to maintain some semblance of economic independence.

I didn't have this exact thing but i had an amp head that had this built into it... probably about 20 years ago. It was a bit shit, even for back then. Your version is an obvious rip off of the line 6 pod from around the same time! not sure id spend the money getting a power supply for it, but id also probably keep a hold of it incase I find one going free!

Looking forward to hearing this. "To the Rescue" is one of my favourite songs/records of recent years.

Hehehe. I fondly remember how I played for funerals and weddings on the same day - playing the same pieces twice: in minor and slow at the funeral, and of course in major and up-tempo at the wedding. 😀
