Nor me, even though I have one. And I suspect female membership of this is a bit thin on the ground: http://thegrowlergroup.org.uk/ Quite SFW, in case you were wondering. -

I agree with Hiram and others. Perhaps the Mods could look at this and ensure the link is safe/remove if not? -

I was up in Morecambe last week to give this a try. Sounded excellent! It's got some proper mojo. I had been concerned about the damage on the back of the neck but you cant feel it at all, or at least I couldn't. I opted to go with a 74 I found at a dealer. GLWTS mate, somebody needs to give this a good home! -

I picked this up quickly to get me going with a newly formed band. It was up at an absolute bargain price (Same as i'm advertising it for). Had to put a deposit to secure it. Did so. Tried it with band.... Its not "my" sound. I play through MarkBass. Always have, guess i always will. Check the "Items Wanted" section. Nothing wrong with this though! Plenty loud enough for small gigs. Lots of tonal options. Plenty of weight behind it (trying really hard not to say heft) I'm not a techy kind of person, so im not sure of the mid frequencies and shifts, but there are a feck load of options! It has Mid shift, Bass Shift, Bright Switch. Hell of an amp and combo for £120! I prrrrobably can post it, but this bad boy isnt light, so do bare that in mind. Only trade id be interested in would be in the MarkBass combo shape. Thanks

Some players say Nickel RW is the set for the fretless. The response is more even than with the smiley stainless (which I use).

Might an Ibanez EHB fit the bill? Full scale, fits in a guitar gig bag, weighs next to nothing. Not as cheap an option as the others, but would be useful outside of the office too!

I've had a few synth pedals over the years including the original Deep Impact. The Dunlop is the best digital synth I've personally used but it's not making me sell my collection of analog noise makers. That first preset is incredible.

That’s the coolest thing I’ve read on these pages for quite some time.

1986 is right. I wandered through Denmark street then and bought my first real bass, a '74 Ric 4001 for £400. Hohner The Jack cost around the same. A Warwick Nobby Meidel was £500. Wals and Statii were more expensive, therefore I don't remember their exact prices.

Messaged you about London @walshy Mrs T calls us “bass brokeback mountain” I told her that’s me and @lee650 but she thinks otherwise (we’ve been rumbled)

I should say, I use rounds.

Listening to it again tomorrow night I can't see it being an issue I virtually never use an Octave live band anyway

Must keep away from the Gardiner Houlgate auctions, they're a dangerous place for me, or at least for the integrity of my anatomy if I keep buying basses and can't manage to sell any. Went down to near Bath to pick up this lovely Shuker Uberhorn today. Body: African blackwood topped mahogany body Neck: seven piece wenge/mahogany with CF strengthening rods Fretboard: phenolic resin Electrics: concealed EMG pickup system and Graphtech piezo saddles All in an original branded Hiscox hard case. There's also a card from WM Guitars whose hands it has obviously passed through giving the specs (and the price they sold it for). The strings are described as D'Addario tapewounds in the WM Guitars description, and that's still what's on it, looking a bit worn, especially the long thumb rest string. It will be getting some nickel rounds. The action is ridiculously high, mainly (I think) due to the relief being absolutely huge. The battery is in quite reasonable nick, should get a bit of use out of it. There's a couple of little dings around the edge but nothing major. For some reason, it hasn't got straplocks on it, which I see as a significant omission to be rectified very soon. Pictures are from the Shuker website and the auction website. When I summon up a bit of energy, I'll take some more.
